dropship ramming is indeed a thing.
for instance if you and an enamy viper are both flying towards a rooftop the ideal play is to ram the enamy dropship out of the air preventing it and its passengers from being able to get onto the rooftops, bonus points for being able to do it in such a way that your burning hulk of a militia shitfit or youself land on the rooftop position. |

An Incubus can slam a python and under most circumstances the Incubus will live.
One has superior firepower and maneuverability the other has superior hull strength.
Don't expect a fair fight from me if your python is vomiting missiles all over the place.
Just keep your dainty ship out of my airspace.
I reserve this tactic for those gnat pilots that run in and spit a bunch of missiles at me and then run away.
Sure it's a **** move but it makes me feel like an ORCA!
We can pickle that.

Never be ashamed of your ramming prowess. A lot of people don't realize how hard it is to ram a Python with an Incubus. I enjoy when people try to ram my 4700+ floating iron block. My armor has turned the tables on many a rammer, but I salute their attempts.

While I consider it a pretty cheap tactic I have done this in the past and yes it has and always will be a thing. You're just noticing it now because derpships have been pretty popular lately. 1.8 fixed that though. |

I use to pilot dropships pre 1.7 vehicle respec, but changed due to money reasons and i really wanted a cal logi, i've never died from a ramming, i've died from everything else, just not a ramming. Maybe i was lucky though, no one wanted to ram me |

I can confirm that I just cost someone at least 700k in assault dropships due to ramming.
I smacked him once and he smashed into my free LAV being called in.

If you are flying ADS just keep moving and scrubs wont get ya, maybe some more skilled pilots will but then again they don't usually ram other dropships. And getting kills doesn't matter as much as keeping your dropship alive, not even if you have tons of millions (lol) cause if you are dead you are no threat to the enemy. So keep moving, at least keep flying in a circle if there's enough space to do so.
R.I.P. Pre-1.7 tanks, you will be missed.
