You know what. I actually really like this idea.
Commando should be about straight damage and the versatility of having two Light Weapons.
Assault should be about a never-ending hail of bullets. And a flat 25% reload speed bonus would help with that.
Caldari Assault bonus would have to be changed to something like -5% rail weapon spool-up time/level. Helps for RR, MagSec and Bolt Pistol, and honestly isn't that overpowered... good players work around the spool-up time already anyway.

Heavys are battleships not cruisers though. Heavy assault is a cruise/medium role
Sentinels are defensive like marauders. Point defense. Assaults are offense.

Crazy right? Yeah cuz that's what I want... But while we're on the subject I'd like to be able to use an hmg on my scout.. People say assaults should be weapon based but they're not give them a DMG bonus or rof bonus idk something assaults need. As it currently stands with the fotm commando or heavy RR once again showing that assault suits are not unique. Blah blah just make it so rifles work better with assaults and no a hip fire bonus doesn't count.

Having more potential HP than their corresponding racial logi would be a good start.
Scouts can max tank roughly 50% of the HP of its corresponding racial logi.
Racial assaults only get approx 200hp less than their equivalent logi.

Seriously, assaults just need to get the slot and stat adjustment they should have gotten alongside scouts and heavies. When that happens, everything will be fine.
And then the bricktanking > ALL problem can be fixed too.

My assault is powerful as it is. Just needs the systems and slot adjustment CCP mentioned they couldn't rework for 1.8
After that has been implemented then see about adjusting it further if needed. But as I said, doing very well already.

Yes OP it might work, but most Assaults don't use the first sidearm let alone the second. Unfortunately with the resources available in this build we don't really have anything for the Assault to specalise in.
At least not that fits CCP's description. In later builds where we have T3 Weapons Systems and Deployable Turrets then prehaps the Assault could be given a better role, but at this point in time, its just not really possible.
Unless your a Computer Scientist don't tell me how Game Mechanics Work.
