Much of the times logis are abandoned or singled out and you want them to have 0 defense? Tell me oh reckoning wise man, what's a logi to do in an extended gunfight after they've run out of deployables? Pick their butt cracks? You have obviously never played as a logi and yet you boastfully post your retardation as if you know what you're talking about " and stuff" LOLOL. I spent all of 1.7 as a Solo logi in ambush. My avg weekly KDR was +6 so GOML But seriously, if you want a logi with a sidearm, pick the Amar Logi and STFU Oh so you spent all of 1.7 as a logi, and that negates my point how?
What suit do you run in 1.8? I bet it's a scout.

The following limits should be imposed then
Heavy Dropsuits: Unable to use a light and sidearm weapons (heavy weapons are like small turrents and just like LAVs they shouldn't be able to equip anything more)
Logistic Dropsuits: Unable to use grenades, light and sidearm weapons (since they are meant for support they shouldn't be fighting right?)
It is just plain stupidity to even think about removing such slots without considering doing the same to other classes.

I could get behind making them choose between cloak & sidearm or Light weapon w/ other options. But. Cloak and RE is just stupid. make cloak a light weapon? lol

See i can be stupid too.
Light are light because of their lack of weight,it's simple common sense.... Someone that runs track can't just bench press 500lbs. One has to suffer, capacity or speed.

Why do scouts get 2 weapon slots? I mean seriously, logistics, the work horse of the battlefield gets 1,while the suit below them in the suit food chain gets 2.
Shouldn't they be limited to just a single sidearm slot? It's the recon unit it isn't supposed to be able to overpower any other suit.
It really sucks that the suit with the most responsibilities, and least survival rate has only one weapon, and 0 adequate defenses. While the suit that's supposed to be the least combat effective can OHK them, and get away completely unseen. That is in no way balanced...
by your "food chain" theory ... suits should be cheaper in SP the heavier they get, considering they become less effective the lighter they are.
All i think that needs to happen, is the weapon draw should be delayed 2 seconds on cloaks. and decloaking could maybe use a loud sound effect, but whatever :P
I will trade you my light weapon slot, for a 200% efficiency rating to entire enemy unit from the back with any sidearm.
Just read the damn thread

You say "skill" but if i had a backup weapon to switch to instead of reloading i'd be pretty skilled too.

For the solution to scouts, i'm in favor of LOGI's getting two sidearms (or in the amarr case, leave it, it's perfect). The real issue is how damage plate stacking applies little to no overall penalty. Suits should have a power rating, and weight. Plates add to weight. High weight suits (ie heavies) already have high power/weight ratio, thus wouldn't have that big of a drop in mobility. Scouts with triple plates would have extremely LOW power/weight ratios, almost negating the speed bonus they get. I don't understand why this mechanic wasn't already implemented. EVE has ran this almost since day 1.
Give DUST514 some direction.
