CCP, please do us LogiBros a solid and knock down the prices of our support gear by 10% or so. We deserve to profit like every other merc.
No, end. (Old logi.) Logi suits (And equipements) creates WAY MORE WP than all other class. Nanohives, triage etcetc gives al ot of WP, giving more iSK, totally Balanced. This is accurate although the cost of being a poor logi is much much higher, higher death counts due to being a main target (yellow kinda stands out as a bad color for someone wanting to die less) and a good majority of time not actually defending against attacks (rep duty is risky) can lead to some pretty high negative scores in a hard match.

abarkrishna wrote:The solution to this problem is a little more complex.
First we have an incomplete WP reward system that favors equipment use over other actions such as killing or preventing hacks. What this is doing is making logi's have an advantage in WP accrual compared to other suits which I do not feel is balanced.
So what this means is that we need to come up with a list of actions that can reward WP (that are not exploitable). Once this has been balanced to give all roles an equal chance at gaining WP we can begin to talk about re-balancing equipment cost to be more profitable.
FYI the only suit not able to use equipment is the Heavy standard and the Heavy Sentinel. So in all reality we all can have similar WP gains as a Logi if thats what we spec into. As a long time Logi Sis there is no reason for me to stop doing logi type roles if the situation requires or would benefit from my actions in that respect. The rewards for Equipment use are relatively well balanced given that without ammo, health or clones or even a strategic position to spawn in at your ability to kill the other team is severely limited unless you know of a way to have more than 450 Clones in a battle, even then you can still run the risk of being cloned out if there is a group of exceptional players on the other side.

Bump.
Please reduce cost of Logi equipment. (WP balancing is a separate issue.)

I agree with OP. Im a minmatar logi, and I pay 150k per proto fit (and some lp) 200k per proto fit (no lp), and 75k/ advanced fitting. I'll get 2,000 WP and die twice in my 150k fit. Thats 300k. I'll be lucky if I break even. I also have and advanced caldari scout fitting. Cost 15k. ( adv light cal. frame, railgun, magsec, 2x basic shield ext., drop uplinks, and compact nanohives) I die 7 times a match and get the same WP. Not fair to the logis

Long time MinLogi, since open beta. While I wouldn't complain about an equipment cost adjustment, a lot of what I'm reading here sounds like folks still learning the logi ropes, and folks still learning the DUST514 profitability ropes. Combat logistics isn't for everyone, its WORK to do it effectively at all and takes a deeper understanding of the relevant skill trees to be able to build worthwhile fits. Most often ignored in the rush to get proto this or that is the Core Skills which boost all your suits' base stats. Stats like higher base armor and sheild increase your survivability, while the ones that raise CPU and PG will allow you to fit a piece of high-level (expensive) gear on a low level (cheap) suit, reducing potential financial losses. The financial loss element is integral to the DUST gameplay experience, and learning to balance it is just part of the game. "Do not use what you can't afford to lose" is the mantra and the best way I've found is to have the cheapest fits possible be some of your best performing fits possible. For example my STARTER MEDIC has a repper, a MD and an SMG. Its about 12k and nets me huge WP gains consistently with an almost negligible ISK investment. I can die 15x in that suit and still be profitable by a large margin usually. This though only due to the basic stats being increased by CoreSkill investment and my ability to WORK when work is what needs to be done.
