AV includes FG and Swamers. It also includes Rail Gun Turrets, Tanks with Rails or Missiles (or Blaster as close range) and the installations for Rail and Missiles. Occasionally some nearby Red with AV grenades as well.
Teaming up to tank down a tank is pretty much necessary. I have never been taken down by one AV Merc regardless of level if I have a healthy tank. Now, I can get stupid and stick around when I should leave which will open the window for the AV to pop my tank. But without previous damage, AV will not get my tank.
So what is that any different from flying my ADS? It isn't. Most properly fitted vehicles, current 1.8 +hatchet jobs (aka hot fixes), require they do have some damage then the AV that has opportunity fire can finish them off. On the ground or in the air.
So, this is contract killing. Who in the Kitten told you it was supposed to be fair?
It sure wasn't me.
Welcome to Dust.

Dravok Silverblood wrote: big ADS post On your OP, my first suggestion is that the best thing a new Derp pilot can do is quit flying MLT Derps. They handle like pigs and, to me, both ADS fly differently than MLT or STD. The Incubus less than the Python. But get out of the MLT ships. All they do is slow up your training.
I always wondered how the Python pilots could float around at the extreme angles they do while keeping centered on target. Well, it is just how that ADS flies. They are great at getting away, dodging and weaving.
The Incubus is great for holding station and providing scans or a platform for gunners. There aren't enough slots to make that survivable for long however.
If you are having trouble killing tanks or turret installations then you are doing it wrong or ... you shouldn't expect to take them out in one pass. First level Assault Drop Ship skill to 5. Before you put one single SP into Caldari or Gallenti ADS. Those only are needed when your turrets are maxed and the damage is at 10% from ADS Skill to lvl 5.
When you are facing shield tanks or Pythons fly the Incubus with Particle Cannon. It will strip the shields off a Sica or a Python real quick. The Gunni will take longer but not a lot. When facing armor use the Python. Or an Incubus with missiles.
Quote:Its not a Tank AV problem its a madrugar regen problem. Second topic From your Signature:
So how do you reconcile this QQ Kitten attitude while your ADS position? I find it hard to do. But then, I am not you.
The current problem is the hardener hack up by CCP/Shanghai was not well thought out, again. Now we are seeing more Armor Maddy with big repair. Well, that is how they are designed. Or redesigned. By a hot fix.
Learn to play the game. Quit worrying about how others are playing and learn how to take them out. The end results are much more satisfying than having someone else dictate how you have to play the game. If you get to modify their game they should get to modify yours. Either way, it is bad enough when CCP/Shanghai does they normal well thought out modifications that leave us with wasted SP and more bugs that won't get fixed.
Its frustrating to hear you put reasonable thoughts into ADS while having a QQ Kitten signature about something you don't know much about. At least that is how it reads to me.

Leonid Tybalt wrote: Oh well if fairness should go out the window, then why not give my railtank back it's insane range so I can pop your dropship from the redline like I could before?
I also run Proto rail Maddies. I miss the infinite range but miss the 600m even more.
My longest kills with a Rail gun were nearly 1K. I killed a red line mountain sniper.
My longest sniper rifle kill was with sniper lvl 5, sniper sharpshooter lvl 5, light weapon sharpshooter lvl 5 with a Farsight AUR sniper rifle that stock range was 1000m versus all the others 600m. It was a OHK at ~1400m. It was my best shot ever.
Those days are gone.
And for the record, fairness has never been an issue in Dust. Not that I can recall. This game has only had balance on a few rare occasions. Since Uprising 1.0 basic functionality is the aspect of the game that has taken the full force of the particular level of skill that has been delivered by CCP/Shanghai. And bugs are introduced with each and every patch. Then the bugs are not fixed once they move on to the next patch ... or Fan Fest.
CCP/Shanghai does not thing out their ideas very well. They rarely understand the nature of gamers or how their current design, patch or hot fix will actually play out in game. More accurately I have rarely seen evidence of it. In fact, no. I have seen evidence of it. They will hot fix or patch a problem on both ends. Buffing one end while Nerf Hammering the other resulting in an even worse imbalance.
The game started out with TacNet and was the main reason I thought that this game was good. It has been removed and each modification regarding sensors, range and cloaks have just been a constant series of disappointments. Surprised? No.
Welcome to Dust. Prepare to be - disappointed.
And so it goes.
