Basically, yes. The more WP you have at the end of the battle, the more ISK and SP you will earn. 500 WP will earn you more of both than 50 WP will, and up the charts. |

So, you earn wp through actions that benefit the team. +100 for hacking an objective because that's the ultimate goal (at least for skirmish and domination). Versus +50 for killing mercs for doing the basic function of the game. And so on and so on for the small things like +10 for giving ammo to your teammates. All these actions add up and tell others how you are impacting the battle through your rankings.
ISK and SP earned through battle are acquired by a special formula of which we don't know specifically but it adds up from:
- time spent in battle (so you get more in general from skirmishes because they are longer battles than an ambush)
- available isk in battle (that means the more proto gear brought into battle and lost, more reward is divided for the pool. Versus is everyone brought cheap militia gear into battle, the less reward is available to divide among players)
- lastly, it takes your performance in battle (wp) and the better you performed, the more isk/sp you earn + the general time you spent in battle
So even if you are at the very bottom of the list, you will still get the sp you earned just by participating in battle. However, you get to the big rewards through the other factors listed.

WP are good for topping the scoreboards.
When you top the scoreboard you can send a message on the lines of "Git Gud n00b" to everyone.
You'll also think your name looks good at the top.
Then no matter what you'll receive a message from duna saying "join-in-my-corp?".

Isk amounts are more about your relative position on the leaderboard than about the total amount of WP you earn, up to a point.
For example you could earn 1000 WP but come in 10 and earn 175k Isk or you could earn 300 WP but come first and earn 250k Isk.
Naturally if you come first on the winning team where vehicles and proto suits died in large numbers then you can earn a massive amount of Isk. |

Sorry...I thought it and had to post...
But yeah, more ISK and SP payouts for higher WP.That and, as the song says, orbital support becomes available for the squad at every 2.5k WP (cumulative for the squad). |
