This is going to be a long one. This is realigning on the fact that there are much more active players out of Nian San and there allies then anything. But here it goes.
Give bonuses to player playing in PC matches like an hour long X3 multiplier for both Isk and SP, this will push everyone to go on a free for all and will cause everyone to go on a corp hunting spree. It will cost too much for any of the massive corps to hold all of their stuff and they will be the main target to the corps, there will be too little of them to hold everyone back and they will lose a tun of Isk holding everything do to the fact that they will be too spread out to do anything. They will lose control of a lot and will have to regain it. with the new warning system they added we will be ready to stand against them.
If its too costly to attack then also make it so that attacking is only two thirds the price. I know this is a gamble but do you want to be the only one to stand against the the wave of players that have suffered from them? Do you want to be the only one standing and allow the your brothers to be slotted by your enemies? Don't you want to play like you used to without getting hit by the hand that feeds you? Do you want to play without everyone going to kill you just for the sake of having a tank, or a glitch, or overpowered gear? Then teach them the price of playing unfairly and show them how a agreement of hundreds of corps and Thousands of players can turn the tide of battle.
To all of those reading, show your courage, spread the word, and make your suffering meaning full. |

CCP has only to remove/reduce (1-2hours timer) that will let more players more corporations get involved in PC.The timer is the only thing allowing a small elite to hold all of the districts. The only issue is how to hold districts with small timers the main answer is politics. The ISK payouts are good but if you want to increase them nobody will say no. |

What incentive is there to spend large amounts of isk trying to take a district and manage the infrastructure if the moment the bulk of your corp goes to bed someone will attack and take it undefended? Timers are critical to land ownership actually working as a game mechanic. I'd say that even the once a day battle is too frequent, given the number of people actually playing this game and the number of temperate planets in lowsec. For the current timer based mechanics to work and all of non-FW lowsec being conquerable we'd need at least 50,000 people logged into Dust as a daily peak, not 4000 like we have now. And that's just with one planet type - more are coming, which will further multiply the number of potential PC battles. Getting rid of timers is the most foolish response to the problem of PC and I see it proposed over and over and over by people who seem to have not given it the slightest bit of thought.
PC is in the state it is now because district locking actually worked for a long time, and the dominance of cheesy mechanics like invulnerable rooftop forge gunners which sucked any fun out of actually playing that game mode (made worse by having to do it every damn night). Now that locking is fixed and the worst of the cheeseball tactics no longer work the landscape of PC may start to change once the blue donut starts to crumble. Slowly, because the incumbent landowners of PC have become absurdly wealthy though the lack of attention paid the to state of the game mode and can outspend anyone trying to take a piece of the pie.
Politics is not an answer. Politics and a boring game mode with a grueling time commitment is what gave us the blue donut. It will exist whether the timers are for 7 days, 24 hours, or 2 hours. Molden Heath was an experiment in how to do playing owned territory. They intentionally picked a region with far too little land for everyone to be in on it, so that we would fight a lot and find the problems. The experiment failed. At this point I don't think there is any way to redeem the current system. It'll need to be scrapped and replaced with a new game mode. |

The main reason we have 4000 players daily online is new players don't stay. Pubs are protostomped all the time.protofitting players can't join PC because a small elite owns it!!! The only way i see is giving older players a space (PC) and leave new players in pubs. Why should you play with a 100k-180k ISK fitting in pubs?? Removing the timer will allow more players to participate in PC and will change fast the ownership of the map.
I agree with you that PC need to be scrapped and replaced with a new game mode. Until then for the sake of new players remove the timer. |
