*Names of corporations and players will be used, because you deserve to be known.*
I don't do this often. Forums, I mean. It seems I have a very different definition to what a forum is to most of the DUST 514 population. But this is something that I could not allow to go unheard. I'll start from the beginning.
Oceania. So wonderful. Matches where the teams are usually less than 10. Sometimes you get one of those matches where there's no one at all and you can randomly fly dropships around and do backflips and crash into a building. And other times there's--I'm going to use a popular term these days--scrub corps farming ungodly amounts of kills and warpoints.
I was in an Oceania skirmish--with a few Nyain San players on the enemy team--with corpmate and friend, CLONE117. I had expected it to be one of the usual matches where I see a few black suits running around. I was a bit suprised when I began dashing around the city and didn't hear the whirl of tanks and oh-so-familiar sounds of rail rifles. I was even more suprised when I began seeing this, over, and over, and over, and over again on the kill feed...
milkman1 (Ishukone Assault Submachine Gun) nnnnnnnnnn... milkman1 (Ishukone Assault Submachine Gun) nnnnnnnnnn... milkman1 (Ishukone Assault Submachine Gun) nnnnnnnnnn... milkman1 (Ishukone Assault Submachine Gun) nnnnnnnnnn...
First thoughts: Dafu---? Weird killfeed glitch. Clone points out to me that they may be doing the "nanite injector kills glitch." Still believing in the innocence of the DUST player, I chuckled to myself, and muttered, "like anyone would do that."
Then it continued. Over, and over, and over again. "milkman1, thrashing randomly made account..." I kept saying to myself, "What the hell is going on?"
It continued throughout the entire match. If I remember correctly, milkman's final kill count was 135/0 with over 8,000 WP. EIGHT THOUSAND. More than logis would get in their "spamming days." More than the most skilled out, decked out prototype suit can get.
How long has this been going on, CCP? How long has this been taken advantage of?
They throw out dozens of fully fledged prototype suits every match, these "scrub corps," as they seemed to be referred to, and all this time, I used to think that their high corporation KD's were because of this. But something THIS LOW?
It might just be that I'm making a big deal out of something small, or it could be because I still believe in something called "spirit of the game," or it could be that my moral standards are higher than theirs, or whatever it may be...
To Nyain San, and the others that have done this, I have only one word for you: PATHETIC.
I'm not just ranting, either. Okay, I am, but there's a point to it. This can be fixed in the next update, if not even hotfixed, through very simple measures:
- Nanite injectors can only revive an incapacitated clone one time. After the first revive, the next down will result in termination. Not only does this stop the very annoying "revive n' drop" method where we keep getting simultaneously downed and revived, this will stop this absolutely disgusting tactic of KD/WP buffing.
(It's not like you can just keep giving blood transfusions over and over again to people either, is it?)
I knew the way these corporations handled this game was bad, but not this bad. This is almost criminal. And, if you're reading this, and you see corps out there like Nyain San/Nyain Chan, WE ARE LEGENDS, SVER True Blood, Ahrendee Mercenaries, TeamPlayers, the corporations we think to be the big and the bad, remember that deep down inside, these players use the dirtiest, cheapest methods to win and get ahead, and should be treated just like that: dirty and cheap.
To who I have spoken to in this post: I have no respect for you anymore. |

Hansei Kaizen wrote:Wait, I dont really get this. Was one guy killing one other guy, or one guy just killing the **** out of everyone else with ridiculous powers? If the former is the case its just another instance of a perversely biased game construction. Could you describe the exploit a bit more explicitly? Sorry, yeah I know I am dumb, but I want to learn.
FYI: I was in a match with 13ear yesterday. First thing I do (solo player), I look at the team-board, to see if my team has a chance of winning the match at all (most matches you can reliably predict the outcome this way). So I can adjust my tactics. So in this match I see a squad with 13ear in my team. I think: great, so were gonna win presumably, because there is no corp squad and no big names on the other team. I get into the squad, because it isnt locked, to toss a few WPs into the orbitals direction.
When I am finished with my usual 1st suit action (dropping pads around the map), I run logi for the match, establish a "bridgehead" and try to make it work. But we cant seem to get the upper hand. I look around, cant see 13ear anywhere, though the other squaddies are up with me. When I look at the map I see the "squadleader" AFKing back beneath the MCC. I make top of the board of my team with 1700 WPs. We lose. I dont believe my eyes.
Morale of the story: If you want to be on top, no tactic to get an advantage is below you. You dont deal in selfrespect, you dont deal in fun, you dont have ideals. You just function. I think thats it.
Correct me if I jumped to conclusions here, but thats my understanding of what was going on.
To elaborate (and to bump), yes. The one guy (Milkman) was killing this "nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn" guy, while another medic on the same team as "nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn" was reviving him constantly so Milkman can continuously kill Multi-N. |
