In the wake of the Scrambler Pistol nerf, many mercs have felt nothing but sorrow at the loss of the, as Bojo aptly calls it "Golden Hand Lamp". Even though I miss the Scrambler Pistol's old stats very much, I have come to understand that CCP intends sidearms to be "finisher weapons". And while I would like to have the ScP restored, I will instead ask for a reincarnation of sorts. I am asking for a Breach Scrambler Rifle.
VRD-02 Breach Scrambler Rifle:
Damage - 84 RoF - 450 Optimal Range(30%) - 60m Effective Range(30%) - 80m Absolute Range(10%) - 175m Magazine Size - 11 (12?) Carried Ammo - 144 Reload Speed - 2.0 Seconds. Headshot Multiplier - 375% Accuracy Rating - (whatever the ScP had, those numbers are undecipherable) CPU - 53 PG - 14 ISK - 17,625
Viziam Breach Scrambler Rifle:
Damage - 88 RoF - 450 Optimal Range(30%) - 66m Effective Range(30%) - 88m Absolute Range(10%) - 175m Magazine Size - 11 (12?) Carried Ammo - 144 Reload Speed - 2.0 Seconds. Headshot Multiplier - 375% Accuracy Rating - (whatever the ScP had, those numbers are undecipherable) CPU - 92 PG - 20 ISK - 77,280
To everyone, Thank You for your time. To any CCP employees, Thank You for your consideration.

how about the old breach scrambler pistol damage with a 20 round magazine with better range then the normal scrambler rifle for their tiers?
I don't even know why I bother.

I like it, though I'd raise magazine to 20, and I'd have it overheat around 11 shots (your proposed magazine).

KAGE and I discussed this somewhere else.
We concluded it should be more "rifle-like", and decided that the magazine size should be 16 rounds and overheat at 11 rounds rather than simply having a 11 round magazine.
To offset this slight buff, I think the amount of carried ammo should be lower, so i lowered it to 96 rounds from 144.
So far the final weapon still largely resemble s a prenerf ScP, but yet is distinct and is more in line with other light weapons.

Why is that so bad? Its the same as the Scrambler Pisto... Same damage, same multiplier.
Compared to the old ScP...
Pros: Larger Magazine (+5) More carried Ammo (~45 more rounds) More Range (about 200% more, because a rifle with only 30m of range would be silly)
Cons: Higher fitting requirementsrequirements (a lot higher, almost 200% higher) Higher ISK cost (at least twice as expensive) Overheat & Feedback DamageDamage (so that it isnt a spam weapon) Lower RoF & lower DPS (in some cases, the standard ScP had less)[/quote]
A rifle with 30 meters range would be silly good thing my AR has 36 :)
Anyways...
IDK just something about trying to close distance on some "sniper" and instantly downed in two headshots in extreme quick succession. (Being a Gallente and forced to use ARs this happens a lot) For example using an SCP your at close range so to get those headshots you have to modify your aim while also moving sround, or sneak up behind the enemy sniping with it is pretty difficult since your in the front lines. But with this you can comfortably sit up on a perch and lay down constant headshots. Remember people will abuse anything that will give them a huge advantage while minimizing any risk that can be incurred to them.

OK. A 30-40m optimal would be silly for a Scrambler Rifle, not just any rifle. Also, AR optimal is 45m... The lowest I could conceivably imagine it being would be 50m, which would be lower than the Combat Rifle.
And a 60m range isn't so large that it could be a "perch weapon".

I like the idea of a very close quarters energy weapon variant.
Lore wise it'll be explained by something along the lines of "the radiation produced by the variants that is so adept at piercing enemy drop suits armor dissipates quickly, so the ability to destroy the sensitive equipment and organs housed in the helmet comes at the cost of drastically reduced range".
As far as gameplay goes, the short range would be enough to stop it from being too powerful but still make it a devastating CQC weapon. Like the sort of weapon a cloaky scout would kill for.
Just think of how awesome it'd be to cloak to get in position, uncloak and then kill your target with 2-3 headshots and disappear. I don't think we'd want something that can do that to have much longer than a 45-50m range.

Personally, I would prefer a shorter range in exchange for more spare ammo, damage, or something. I just tried to make it more like I imagine a high powered rifle to be.

Frankly a pre-nerf ScP (1.8 nerfed the ScP hard) that shot out to 50m would set an awesome precedent for energy weapons.
Trading range for extra headshot bonus would fit in well with the extreme risk VS. reward that E.W. already have when you consider the risk of overheating.

Both. Kinda. I'm talking about making an ScR that behaves much like the old ScP did. Essentially, a high powered rifle with a small magazine and a headshot bonus.
