I started out With a little over 700 HP but have steadily removed plates and added more scouty mods on my suit.
So I'm currently running With 160 Shields - 404 armor which makes the total HP 546.
Thats the setup I've ad the most success With, I noted my games yesterday and had a 5.9 KDR, without nothing but gun, nade and knife kills.
And please do mind, this is a protosuit, be reasonable and have that in mind, it cost a lot and is not to be considered against a dragonfly BPO....
So am I now considered a scout With a setup like this? or am I still a "tryhard Assault bricktanked scout FOTM Wannabe"?
How little HP must a scout suit have to be considered as being a "true scout"?
Is there a limit and whats the number?
1. Brick tanked means you just stack as much armor/shields possible. Literally there are no biotics/dampners/precision scanners/range amplifiers. Assault scouts I would say are looking for highest damage output, so alpha weapons combined with large amounts of either armor or shields but not both and they don't necessarily stack it to the max (i.e. 2 or 3 out of the 4 slots).
2. Honestly there is not such thing as an assault scout- there just "scouts", but "true scouts" go for max speed/stealth (dampners/cloaks)/ range amplifiers/ and precision scanners- and these are mixed with 1 or 2 shields extenders or 1 or 2 armor plates.
3. At this point I wouldn't consider you a "true scout" just a regular scout, but not a "tryhard Assault bricktanked scout FOTM Wannabe."
4. Limits are generic but it's usually totaling around 300-400 eHP on proto suits.
"One does not simply" look for a scout, it looks for you.

Is this a serious question? brick-tanking is devoting, almost all your slots to hp mods.
Damp? nope -> armor plate Pre enh? nope -> Shield ext Green bottle? nope -> armor plate Range amp? nope -> armor plate Shield reg? nope, doesn't add hp -> shield ext Shield rech/energ? nope, doesn't add hp -> shield ext kincat? maybe, to offset the huge plate stacking speed penalty otherwise -> armor plate

If you can fit it, it is good. Try out stuff, play around. If its a scout suit its a scout suit, period [.]
When you play the scout in a more "assault-like" fitting, then its your business. I think the QQ about the assault fitted scout is a symptom for a lack of definition for the declared assault: The assault suit. But thats another story.
I think King Babar is an assault player deep in his little heart, but let him experiment to where he can push it. If he can make the scout work for his own style, he has the right to do that. It is only sad if that would be the only viable playstyle at all. |

No added plates or shield will make you a better scout, on a side note was it you that called me a fu.cking f.ag and kicked me from your squad yesterday? If so then i suggest you learn some manners, and if you don't want random non corp mates joining your squad then lock it, no need to be so rude and aggressive like you or one of your corp mates were to me, if there's one thing i cant stand is someone who thinks their a tough guy but hides behind a mike when he's acting tough. If it wasn't you then i do appologise. |

A unskilled scout is someone who's trying out cloak but they die too much or hate the HP so they tank more armor. These are scrubs and they're turning to scouts because their assault suit is terrible.

That sounds exactly like my scout. Are you running dual enhanced plates and a complex extender?
My intentions is to have a fun game for everyone.
If I seem to be biased, I have good hard data to back it up.

I feel like I can be the type of scout I like again. I ran type IIs and Bs during beta. Even as a Logi I never stopped 'playing' like a scout. My med frames were always low HP, quick, and damp. The thing that takes me out of the scout elitist club is that I prefer ranged weapons over knives or Gage's, and I didn't put myself through the torture of becoming popular on shotty's registry. You'll see me in a dragon fly more than a Sever or Templar Logi now, mainly because their are Gal Logis out there and I refuse to be scanned, but also because the Gal Scout is the dream suit for how I've always played.
No need to brick tank when you play the field like a scout.

This was 1.7, no plates, no extenders, full BPO.
Play how you want Babar, and don't worrie about the haters. Do keep some honor, if you see a scout with knives out and you're equipt with knives, take the challenge. If you see two scouts fighting with knives, let them finish before you shoot. They've at least earned that respect. But trust your gut. If something feels to powerful, you didn't just manically get good, it's probably imbalance and will probably be corrected. You've been around, so I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, but personally, I won't be 'shamed' by any group out of playing the way I like.

Brick Tank means the same thing it does for any other role.
You're using modules to enhance both shield and armour levels. If you have Plates and Extenders, you're brick tanked. If you have Shield Extenders and Armour Repairers but no plates, you're regen tanked instead. |
