My sniping scout suit has 830 hp you know, for those matches you're like " *sigh* let's relax a bit" and go like 20 and 0. Anyways the most I have on my gal scout is roughly 500 armor (proto) with my duvolle. Ask others besides what was described above have around 330 armor.. I love you complex ferroscale plates

TBdaBoss wrote:No scout should ever need more than 400 eHP. Ever. That said, If you decide to tank up, you become slower than an average assault suit. So a scout is giving up their biggest advantage (speed) for an advantage that isn't even an actual advantage (HP). I don't see how this is a problem. They move slower than medium frames, and you have to shoot them as much as a medium frame. Ferroscale.

Mostly I'm running 230/200 cal hunting down other scouts and heavies but in a good squad ill go lower to increase range or sometimes ill abandon the percision for more hp if I'm losing 1v1s or what not. Anyone bitching about other people's build is the scrub. Brick tankers sacrifice something, make a build to counter that. Oh wait, most folks bitching are meds and heavies who have always just brick tanked so they have no ability to think out of the box... Ironic Do you not understand that were saying that scouts having that much hp interferes with assault and yes I am an assault.... I'm also a heavy a scout a logi a tanker I'm not just walking around bitching I know what I'm talking about.
Yep but he's worse at being an assault than the assault. Look ill admit assaults don't have much of a role in 1.8 where scouts, logi, sent and commando all do. Ill grant assault players that, but that isn't the fault of scouts brick tanking. It's the fault of them being the generic class who lacks the speed and ewar of the scout, the damage of the commando, the support of the logi and the tank of the sentinel
Yeah scouts are OP right now but it's not to blame the brick tankers. It's the fact they got like 5 different buffs at on e. ewar scouts are just as OP as brick. Speed probably are too. The scout can hide from your scans, scan you, add some speed and health all at once while cloaking and having an extra equipment.
But again that's not the fault of dudes who want to brick tank, the suit itself is just better than the assault.
And it's less scots being OP and more assaults being UP. As the balance between the other 4 classes seems solid. |

Because when I was in my caldari scout i shot at a gal scout he turned around and cut me down with his sg he still had 535 armor left. You guys are being silly... If a scout wants to stack plates, they are only able to perform very limited tasks... Are extremely vulnerable and given up its main asset... speed... for just 300 health... Its not a trade off anyone would make bar a few isolated uses. Not only that but no matter how the scout stacks their health they will still be inferior to a good assault... a similar skilled Gallente Assault... 900 Armor.. rifle bonus.. 3 high slots... trumps an armor tanked gal scout.. Every time. A Kincat Shotgun scout however? Kinda like a BPO heavy meeting a real heavy... The imposter get's sat down at the kiddie table. They seem to cause great amount of QQ though - for the most part it's the Gal scout that benefits most/loses the least by brick tanking. They still have the dampening and intel boost and 2 equips. I'd argue the gal-assault overall is a little UP in comparison (In fairness, I've never played anything but scout, so it's hard for me to comment). To me that is because regular armour plating is a little unbalanced. If scouts were only using shield mods, ferroscales and reactives you wouldn't see this QQ. Same with brick tank logis. Same with Brick tank anything to some extent. However since scouts are so..."popular" right now, some people talk as if its a scout only problem. This community sometimes seems to have a very short and selective memory... If the gal scout was the best at the role they are crying about then sure... But it isn't true... Two Equally skilled players.. One wearing a Gal scout One wearing a Gal Assault... and you start a player 1vs1 duel, spawning the 2 players on either side of a open field normally... The Gal Assault should win everytime... with range and damage and tank over the scout there is no advantage a scout has over the Assault... Other then sneaking up and trying to get the first shots off... The entire advantage of a scout is speed(Which is gone when plated) and staying off the radar... You could repeat this scenario with every race... Amarr to Amarr.. etc... And each race has their niche on the battlefield through parity changes which gives them all their own strength's and weaknesses.
(Sorry for pyramid posting - on phone).
I suppose the additional utility on gal-scout can help make sure that fair fight never happens, and when it does they are not at the kind of disadvantage an ewar scout would be.
I guess my overall point is that a light-assault scout seems to have the best of both worlds. The assault doesn't gain enough to make it stand out on its own and EWAR/Speed scouts don't gain enough to warrant using those mods over tanking mods.
It's not that I think light assaults are awesome or OP, just frustrated at feeling the design ethic at work isn't clear.
Instead of asking what battlefield role you want to focus on, DUST asks you which role you would like to brick tank...

you forgot the passive life 25% to shields i believe my scout maxed gets 457 shield my old gal scout tanked had... cant remember perhaps 756 armor... these were maxed fittings multiply the 130 by 1.25 and this is assuming max tank. i realize enhanced plates are a more viable build but for arguments sake you cant put all extenders on one suit and a repair module on another. The point of my post is not to debate viable builds but to give an unbiased example of maxed tanked scouts based on their tank style.

(IMO) I and another corpmate brought up the idea of If you have THAT much armor, you should light up like a Christmas tree on the radar. Because that much armor on a Scout should make noise due to weight distribution. It's logical. Make it effect their E-WAR bonuses. Done. Balanced. And having a ton of shields doesn't increase your electronic signature? Armor suits aren't the only ones who can get a ton of HP >.>
I am completely aware of this but I thought if you stack that much shield you pop us as well and the more shields you have the longer it takes for it too come back. But doesn't Armor only have a movement penalty, that's it? |
