So, I was doing some thinking about this for a while, and I've enver really paid close enough attention in-game to find out. In objective based gamemodes, when the MCCs and NULL cannons fire rockets into each other, do they follow the damage formula?
Rockets are explosive, so does the MCC take more damage when it loses it's shields and is down to just armor? Does the game accelerate after the MCC shields are gone? Sometimes I do notice that a game goes neck-n-neck, then one side pulls into a steep lead and it's all downhill from there.
I ain't got time for dat sh!t

Same damage to both.
No difference whether hitting shield or armour.

When an objective is red, then hacked, it is still shooting at the blue mcc until it turns blue.
So if 4/5 objectives are red for a minute, and then 3 of those 4 are hacked, the red objectives get to fire for about twice the time.
Even though only 2 objectives are red now, you need a lot of time with only 3 objectives to recover from that short span of time you only had 1.
4 red - 1 blue = 3 advantage x 2 minutes = 6 advantage 3 blue - 2 red = 1 advantage x 2 minutes = 2 advantage
What this math means is that for every x amount of minutes you have 4 red null cannons firing at your MCC, you need to spend another 3x minutes holding 3 blue objectives in order to gain back the lead.
To make things even more simple, if your team holds 4 null cannons for more than 4 minutes, you can still win even if the enemy holds 3 null cannons for the rest of the round. As long as they don't take 4 or all 5, you can effectively win even though you could be considered "losing" the majority of the match.
You only need to redline the enemy team for 3 minutes (very easy to do at the start of a match) in order to gain enough of a head start in MCC damage to still win by only holding 2 objectives

advantage is right, but you should also point out: 1 cannon is 1 damage point but a MCC also counts as a damage point
if you play with only one nullcannon on the map, then the MCC will still lose HP. who ever holds the cannon has a 2-1 lead
if you play with 5 cannons and you hold 3 and the enemy holds 2, then you are 4-3 behind and not 3-2 when you have 1 life left and the enemy has 6 left, even if you take all 5 points you will still lose with the next damage tick. |
