Armor repair mods have been entirely underwhelming for far too long. Considering how good remote repairers and triage hives are, there is little incentive to run more than one rep for when the logi is shooting things. Even if you had to slightly reduce repair rate of remote reps for this I think it would be completely worth it, particularly since the amount they repair is crazy high anyways.
Basic - 3hp (from 2)
Advanced - 5hp (from 3)
Prototype - 8hp (from 5)
I feel that these are minor enough to not be disruptive, yet significant enough to be worth the change. I think there need to be more viable options outside of brick tanking, and I think making armor repair modules a bit more desirable would help.

+1 It takes way to long to repair armor hit points with the current repair modules.

In one minute, a caldari suit repairs 1680 HP
In one minute a Gallente suit repairs 495 HP with just one module.
I am pretty sure shield regen doesn't need a buff.

The amount of shields we get do need a buff.
Adv gal scout gets 500 armour.
Adv cal scout gets 380 shields.
I think it's unfair :(. |

I haven't carried an armor repair module since 1.3
they are just too ineffective, it's better to just have more hp and find a repper hive or supply depot.
that said **** armor, i'm sick of them getting all the nice toys. |

It's a matter of flexibility, not tank. If I get shot down to my armor and survive around 35 seconds, the armor rep has given me back more armor than I could get with a plate. More reppers means faster turnaround. If I'm going to be stationed somewhere with triage nanohives or running a squad with a logi then plates are great, but if I'm operating independently I need a way to recover between engagements.
In other words, shield and armor modules provide a spectrum of flexibility between low HP, quick turnaround and high HP, slow turnaround. Armor always weights toward the latter, shield always weights toward the former, and the two do not have substantial (if any) overlap. This is how it should be. A more robust spectrum comes from the degree to which the suit relies on one or the other. That's why nearly every suit has some of each.

Armor has a rep tool, rep hives, and over twice the of shields. You need to bring something to the table before we talk about working on armor.
Best PVE idea I've seen.

I'd prefer to give the Gallente Medium dropsuits skill a 5% bonus to rep modules per level as the Gallente are more about armour reps than armour buffer.
With level 5 armour repair systems and 5 Gallente Meduim dropsuits, you'll be getting 3.1, 4.6 and 7.8 for STD, ADV and PRO modules, respectively.
I'd give Amarr mediums a bonus to either plate hp or a massive reduction to movement penalty so they get maximum buffer.

Solution
Shields rep passively. With 4 proto armor reps gal get a passive triage nanohive at 40-70 Caldari can reach 113 already with a few energizers Armor should be able to do at least half that.

to large of a gap between tiers with that...
i dont mind having my 2hps reps with my mlt repper. though its now 3hps reps on my gal heavy suit.
and combat isnt entirely fast paced(unless your surrounded).
its rather slow enough to where u could sneak up on some1 with a heavy suit now. |

Chief-Shotty wrote:Buff shields regen rate and regen delays....then we can talk turkey about self armor reps. lol no. Considering that a shield refills at a minimum of 20 hp/s, to full, and you get the benefit of all the extenders with that, I'm afraid not. Compare that to an armor repairer that does 6.25 hp/s but doesn't add ANY hp to the pool. Or a complex reactive plate that does 2 hp/s for some armor amount.
Shields are way higher with their regen baseline; there's no need to "buff shield regen" when they already VASTLY outclass armor repairing.

This is a great solution, IF shields regenned slowly and passively like they do on Eve's shield systems. Passive regen is slow, but using a shield booster can increase that rep amount by a lot. Armor regen rates (even with complex reppers) are a joke in Dust. Shield users have to hide for a few moments and have full shields. Armor users have to hide for a long time, rely on another person for reps or have to take up their equipment slot with a triage hive to have any meaningful regen. Shield suits on Dust, in effect, have a built in shield booster that very quickly reps their shields to full.

i was about to load my abuse cannon until i realise it was for dropsuit mods :P... yeah i support this. relying on a nanohive to survive, when shield users do not need to, is silly. not only will buff help armour suits, but it will increase TTK.

The reppers just aren't worth a slot, considering that they regen so slowly. CCP tried to spin that the repper is worth it since it regens "even under fire," but honestly, unless they're going to start producing weapons with 5 dps--FIVE--the fact that my suit reps for that amount is hardly relevant when a single round from a rifle hits for 30+ damage.
Yeah 5 a second is nice if your gonna be in combat for 3 minutes. But most weapons kill in 1 or 2 seconds.
5 is worthless.
