To me it doesn't have enough range right now, and that's all it actually needs currently. But that's just me, the damage it gives currently seems good enough to me.
Don't nerf heavies, instead do This

oh well good to know that it's just a glitch right now, it doesn't need more damage. But a skill to reduce the recharge would definitely make it more effective not OP like some might say.

Short range dosent matter if it cant kill anything 325 dps is not ok 70 damage at basic and change the whole freaking thing
For the bolt pistol
The charge between shots should be removed then it will do 354 DPS. FIXED

C'mon people, are you expecting a Rail Rifle?
I'd prefer to lose the individual charges, and the fitting requirements are a little bizarre, but I've been taking out medium frames with 4 shots FFS.
P.s. this may be quite an obscure use for the weapon, but it's a OHK for equipment. Very satisfying.

It's a side arm, it's more effect to armor, and its 148.5 base damage (891 base damage / clip)...
stop using it like a heavy/ hmg combo, running into a firestorm thinking a side arm is going to stand toe to toe with a light weapon.

Yes and no sidearms very well have the ability of going toe to toe with a light weapon, however unlike the light weapons they have strict restrictions they must follow making them a more skill based weapon to master and be useful in.
You can and will go double digits with a sidearm, it's just harder.

dude that's what I do, got my hmg with the bolt pistol on my Minmatar heavy and It works fine lol. CCP just has to get the range glitch on it fixed and it'll be even great for me.

The only buff I'd like to see tried is the auto charge full then fire on single trigger pull instead of having to hold it down. Screws with my cadence quite a bit.

I'm using a std MagSec (just level 1 skill) and SMG on a STD mini suit for this event ... It's a cheap outfit and I normally don't use the SMG as I'm still testing the Mag.
I might have to try out the bolt gun paired with the Mag.
FYI I use two sidearms because it focuses me much more. And with prof 2 in SMGs I can hold my own with surprise. |

Its a wonderful weaponGǪso wonderful I'm afraid it might be nerfed soon. It strips most shields in 2 shots and armor goes soon after. Its great for my scout paired with either a magsec or Nova Knives. This thing has power.

The only problem with the bolt pistol is when trying to land the shot on someone, that range glitch.

The low DPS is a problem when the magsec has a similar range and much higher DPS It should do 200 dmg at basic 210 at advanced 220 at proto That would give it at least 300 DPS |

Knowing how CCP does things, it'd be better off if they left it alone lol.. you get used to the charge anyway, and it feels damn good killing with it. I'd say to buff the range since it's rail tech, but then again it's a sidearm.

I like the Bolt pistol as is and wouldn't change it. I like that I can stop holding the trigger mid charge and it not fire. Sometimes I'm not sure if I want to commit and I would waste so much ammo without that feature.
If it does have a range glitch right now I'd be excited to see it in action cause it seams like long range isn't connecting. It works great the way it is I hope the changes don't effect to much cause mid range it's a nasty little smack.

I like the BP's rate of fire. It gives it a unique feel. A damage buff would be better for getting it to a competitive dps since it has a fairly low ammo pool. |
