I ever wonder if CCP will implement web stasis as a feature to slow down enemies. I can see it be used by all of you cry babies wanting to nerf the heavies.
How would it work in dust? Any ideas?

I would like to see it as a proxi-mine or a deployable, a lot of players want something like that as a grenade but that just screams OP and would promote an insane level of spam tossing the likes of which would destroy the servers if Nyan had their hands on it. |

If it is an equipment that is best on vehicles, it would be great. Otherwise, no.

Until equipment spam is fixed it would still be a bad idea. |

I'd like to see a handheld webifier as an equipment item.
NOT deployable.
You equip it, and hold the fire button while aiming, and it slows whatever target you line up and lock onto. They'd have separate lock ranges for vehicles and infantry (longer range on vehicles). You could maybe have slightly less of a speed reduction on vehicles as well.
That way, they become much more of an anti-vehicle weapon than anti-infantry, and would be reliant on teamwork to be an effective option in combat.
Get someone in close with a webifier to lock down the vehicle, THEN hit it with AV weapons. If you're running a Scout squad and find a well-tanked Heavy, get one guy behind with a webifier then hit it with whatever weapons you have. |

Aww cute, another one of those ones that heard imaginary release dates for stuff that was never given a time frame. I feel sorry for your poor comprehension...life must be full of false truths, misunderstandings and warped perceptions for you. *pours you some milk*

Confirmed for 2012:
PvE with Rogue Drones.
Confirmed for 2013:
MTACs E-sports and competitive gaming support
Some of the other content was mentioned at Fanfest, and I'm sure some was mentioned for a planned 2013 release, but I think that was an overly optimistic list we were just given. |

Lol I can def see this be abused. Maybe op and annoying for ground troops.
Like Luna Angelo said, I't would be best on vehicles. Makes more sense. At a close proximity, web stasis a vehicle/aircraft so it can slow down a bit. Could be helpful when there is a squad running av's or for a war barge.

(Hint: It's best for larger battleships, and not as good on Frigates and other small ships. It still works, just not as well.) So, make it so you CAN use it on Infantry, but it drastically reduces its effectiveness.

As some have said, I think stasis webs would be a good addition, as long as they are for use only against vehicles. You know that stupid terrain glitch? How much fun would it be if that was suppose to be happening? The fastest suits right now drop like a rock when shot, really no need to slow them down. Heavies are slow enough already, no need to slow them down more. Vehicles, however, move pretty damn fast when they want, and a properly implemented vehicle web would create some fun and fair vehicle vs av situations. Having any suits speed cut down in a combat situation is pretty much a death sentence, and doesn't seem to fun.
I agree with the web being a piece of equipment, maybe something you pull out and have to point at the target vehicle while holding down the trigger. It could have an over heat mechanic, and to make things fair maybe have a energy/residue mechanic on the vehicles that eventually, after enough energy/residue build up, a stasis web won't work for a bit on said vehicle to keep the same vehicle from getting webbed over and over again.
Switzerland is small and neutral. We're more like Germany. Ambitious and misunderstood.

Oops.
If it's an equipment you have to select, I don't think it can be abused, because you can only lock down one target, and will be relying on another player to damage said target in order to achieve anything. It would be beneficial for Scouts to use it to stall a Heavy, but beyond that, I can't see any way to abuse it as an anti-infantry option. |
