Well isn't that the point of heavies/sents? They're mainly for point defense, not chasing down and killing.
You can snipe with a heavy can you not? You can assault with a scout can you not? You can scout with a logi can you not? So why shouldn't my minmatar heavy be able to run on the front lines with the rest of the assaults if I choose to put sprint mods on? I can sprint at 6.7, that's faster than most armor tanked assaults. With a second one I can get up to 7.44...but even then I'm still straggling behind. You're focusing on building up your speed and not bothering with stamina buffs.
Train stamina skills and equip stamina mods.
Now you'll have speed AND the ability to maintain that speed.
You'll have no armour or shields doing it though, so.... good luck? |

You do realize that minmatar suits got a HUGE stamina regen buff in 1.8 right? My stamina takes about 25 seconds to full deplete (25 seconds of sprint time), and only about 3-4 seconds to recharge back to full (most suits it takes about 10 seconds or so) Stamina mods might make sense on something like an amarr heavy...but I seriously don't need to every worry about stamina again after the 1.8 buff As for not using shield/armor mods...the whole point of a fast suit is to be fast in it right? There's no way I can out-tank a suit meant for tanking (i.e. amarr or caldari), so I have to use my agility to my advantage to flank/use cover instead of just fighting head-on. Last thing...no armor/shields? base HP for the thing after skills is over 1000...maybe not impressive for a heavy but when you run as fast as a medium frame you might as well compare it to a medium...and 1000 is actually not bad. If you can sprint that speed for that amount of time, and recover that fast, but still can't keep up, you're doing something wrong. Please explain HOW people are getting (and staying) ahead of you in suits which are both slower AND have worse stamina than you.
Heavies still have lower movement speed in combat, and as a frontline suit, you HAVE to rely on your eHP more than your ability to move back into cover like an Assault or Scout can. If you can't take cover as efficiently, and still only have comparable eHP to the well-tanked Assaults you're matching sprint speed with, then you're in trouble when you start taking heavy fire. |

Um Pretty sure scouts can run 9, 10 m/s easily now with the extra slots they got in 1.8. Scouts also have the most stamina and fastest stamina regen of all the frames... I was never saying that assaults are beating me to the punch...it's scouts that I'm talking about being the main frontline fighters now. Apparently 360 degree 24/7 scans are BAD, yet scouts with a huge passive scan that runs 24/7 360 degrees is OKAY -_- Not saying you're one way or another, but it's just annoying. Scouts run in, find enemies with actual eHP, die. You come in, keeping up with the Assault following the Scout, and don't die because unlike the Scout, you have eHP. |

You're running with skilled players, mostly fighting against enemies who aren't as skilled.
You can't keep up, so enemies are dying before you get there.
Options: Find better enemies. Find worse friends. Talk them into waiting for you to catch up. |
