I'm fine with cloak, however with the cal and gal scouts each boasting 700-800hp they are now assault suits with a cloak.
Maybe it's time to follow the vehicles and EvE's path for tanking mods and introduce small, medium, and large shield and armor extenders for dropsuits. This way we don't get scout suits who run faster than assaults with more HP and a cloaking ability. |

we should get that, and then make a negative to fitting plates and such that are larger than they can hold.

Large medium and small might be a little hard to implement, large and small (similar to vehicle extenders/plates) might be easier. But yes, even that would eliminate the brick scout. |

Assaults can stack higher and so can heavies
Fact
I think we need heavy shield extenders for heavies but we already have light plates and they are counter-productive because they hog all the CPU |

This couldwork, you could also simply alter the penalty based on framesize. But if we goe that way (i guess light plates would be Ferroscale/reactive plates) make those plates viable.
Why Ferros and reactive plates still have huge CPU/PG requirements is way beyond me. Also remove the stupid 1% penalty from reactive plates or buff their HP to Ferro levels.
Those two makes really no sense in their current implementation.
Medium plates would be our current std plates but what would you suggest for heavy plates (hp Values and penalty)? |

Actually I think a powergrid reduction for advanced and proto would fix this. Say 8 and 16. It would force people to choose between tank, utility and dps. |

Main thing to remember is that every new item requires code and thus is harder for ccp to implement and counts against new content in the future. Keep the solution simple and CCP is more likely to slip it in next patch. |

yea you can make a scout a better ass ult suit then the assault suit but it comes at a cost, its over all a specialist fit, because of the lower pg and cpu alot less can be done with it, so you can get the advantage but you sacrifice alot to get it & for the recorded the opposite can be done you can make assult suits a better scout suit but with sacrifices

Scout has MORE CPU/PG than assault |

+1 But I think that was the idea behind the different types of plates. Just bring back the old speed penalties so that they're useful. Mind you I run Gallente so it would hurt me as well.

Light would be 50-75-100
Medium stays as is
Heavy is 120-150-180 With a 4-6-8 movement penalty. Maybe 4-7-10
Prototype light falls within medium basic/advanced and heavy basic falls within medium advanced/prototype.

i like the suggestions above my post.
They could put a penalty on using modules above your class such has x2 for 1 step and x5 for 2 steps you could also have that reversed for going steps down -50% 1 step down and then -100% for 2 steps.
I don't even know why I bother.

We need to increase pg consumption of plates. Currently the are the same as extenders with half the CPU usage. Bring them to 14-16-18 consumption makes stacking them much less appealing.
Best PVE idea I've seen.

I believe the best solution is to tweak the CPU/PG bonus for the cloak. Les CPU/PG means the can't go pro to weapon and 700-800HP when heaving the cloak on. |

I'm really in favor of a more realistic calculation of how much plates slow a suit down (ie. heavy suits already weigh a ton, so adding plates wouldn't slow them that much, whereas scouts weigh very little, and have little push power, thus resulting in HUGE drops in speed should they choose to stack plates. Equation would look like P/(W+M)=R where P:suit power rating , w : Weight of suit , M : weight of module.) If this were to be used, there could be additional low modules that would increase base movement rate by reducing the overall armor HP on a percentage basis.
want to double up on those plates on your scout? going to move slower than an assault, and i think that extenders / reps should also increase your overall detection. heavy tanks should be easier to spot on radar, imo.
Give DUST514 some direction.
