Well, no. We don't have to be mercenaries. Some of us choose not to be. You can label yourself as a mercenary because it will justify the fact you have no real loyalty, morals or obligations other than gaining ISK. That's fine, that's what you choose to be. Not all of us do. Don't get me wrong I'm not butthurt about the blue doughnut, it's part of a cycle that must happen to form a new era. But I am not strictly a mercenary.

I'd say I'm more like soldier in some respects. That is I have affiliation to one corporation and one only, I will fight under their morals and terms. However you are misunderstanding what 'soldiers' are. They don't have to be fighting all the time, some choose when to fight.

This is actually the third time I've made a thread bout this topic in war room. Every new Blue Donut brings up the same questions and comments and QQ. Nothing has ever changed, people pretend to play soldier, then cry on the forums.

Even when I was fighting against the blue donuts I found this annoying. Maybe if people decided wtf they want to do in this game blue donuts could be fought.

Anyways, beyond that, I just want to comprehend how a large part of the community gets off acting like playing soldier is the 'good thing' to do.

Don't get wrong there are some idiots who really DO want to play army cadet (Cough, Buzz, cough) but don't tar us all with the same brush. You do not have loyalty to anyone, you will fight for who pays you the most, and you will therefore stick to the latest buzz there is. Hm, you know, I have this great argument for when someone brings up these points. Mostly it's actually just me using search and proving them hypocritical - which I can do with, pretty much everyone.
