Both sides have searched for 'justice' on Caldari Prime, and it has brought nothing but pain.
Terrible things happened in the past, things both the Caldari and Gallente were responsible for, all from the rift of bringing an entire people into the fold of a society they clearly did not belong in, which clashed with their traditions and culture.
That divide was like a wound from which only hate poured forth, but it is a wound that has long since begun to heal, and would close completely if only both sides would stop picking at it.
Yes, the Caldari and Gallente have a bloody past, but focusing on that past is not benefiting anyone.
It is the reason Caldari Prime is even an issue to begin with. Being located in the heart of the Federation, it is a simple matter to see why the Gallente fight over it, why it was important to hold it. It was never about driving the Caldari from their homes, but about driving an enemy from the heart of the Federation.
But that was nearly two hundred years ago. I think to think that if cooler heads were simply allowed to prevail, the two would no longer have to see each other as enemies.
BOTH sides have much to gain from the other, especially in the economic and social sectors, if they would cast aside their old grievances and start anew. More so than any other empires, they have the capacity to become allies, or better yet, friends.
If and When this happens, the Caldari will be welcomed back to Luminaire, to the home they so desperately long for, and perhaps a new era of mutual trust and cooperation could take hold.
Kador, the way you speak of righteous purpose makes it sound like you advocate Caldari making violence against the Gallente, in the search of 'justice', for crimes against their people.
Can one assume that you also feel Minmatar violence against your own people is justified and righteous, for the terrible things the Amarr have done to them in the past? After all, is that not the delivery of justice? Were they not wronged, like the Caldari were, and should seek violent retribution?
Are they not reclaiming something stolen from them?

If and When this happens, the Caldari will be welcomed back to Luminaire, to the home they so desperately long for, and perhaps a new era of mutual trust and cooperation could take hold. Well said the history of Caldari and Gallente have mostly been nothing but bloodshed and hatred towards one another due to events that happened centuries ago. And while the battle for Caldari Prime was a horrible disaster on the planet, it did start the demilitarization agreement that let Gallente and Caldari coexist on Caldari Prime. However, I do not think the Caldari and Gallente will never become allies, due to the sheer difference in their social structures. Caldari are about sacrificing oneself for the benefit of the group, and not making compromises when it comes to their culture, while Gallente are all about individualism and capitalism. After all, the only Gallente corporation Caldari recognize is Quafe, and their alliance with Amarr is mostly based on "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". I do hope though that in the least, the Caldari and Gallente can coexist peacefully, and the demilitarization agreement is a step in the right direction.
You see, I do not believe that the difference in culture or social structure are of any hindrance to mutual trust and cooperation. People are different, they behave differently and see the world from different points of view. ACCEPTANCE of these differences is all that is needed.
As long as it is clearly understood that the cultures are different, and no attempts should ever be made by one to influence or change the other, then there should be no issues.
The Caldari are just as capitalist as the Gallente (in fact, I would argue even more so, since the very core of their society is structured around corporations) but having that in common is an economic STRENGTH. Cultural differences can be taken out of the picture completely if both sides simply set mutually agreed upon trade agreements and restrictions.
Socially their cultural differences could even have a POSITIVE effect on one another. I think the Caldari people could benefit from a little bit of exposure to Gallente individualism, while the Gallente people could benefit from the strong sense of honor and duty to their people that the Caldari share. Exposure, in small amounts, with reasonable limitations to create a bridge of understanding across the culture gap.

Jacques Cayton II wrote:Dagger two you are hopeful, but the sheer thought of being friends with the Federation brings me hatred in my heart. The pain in between our two empires is to great if we ever become neutral again that's all it will become, neutrality.
Clinging to that hatred will only cause more pain to both peoples.
