As a constant lone wolf myself, let me say the key is versatility. And situational awareness.
When the match starts, first thing I do is droplinks. Deploy them for 2 reasons:
-Closer to a contested objective -A "snipers nest"
(you can equip both militia droplinks and regular ones on a Logi).
Then, drive back to the Supply Depot and go get changed. Me I usually change into my Mines outfit. I hide some RE on my LAV as a anti theft system ,and then I go out and place some Poxy mines.
Afterwards, drive back to the Supply Depot and change.
Basically, you are switching roles as they are needed. If theres no spawnpoints, go the the drop uplinks character. If the team is getting beaten back, switch to sniper. If the team is entrenched, switch to rep tools, nanohive, and injector. If the team is doing well and doesn't need Logi support, switch to a tank.
Or sometimes get a dropship and some gunners and hover over a firefight.
The biggest advantage you have as a lone wolf is stealth. By avoiding the bigger firefights, you can flank and capture installations and objectives, or can plant uplinks and create a new front for the enemy.
You have to be ready to do 5-6 different roles, and have to know when you are needed, and when "my work is done here". |

1. Time - i don't have the time nor care to find a team. I want to login and play.
The answer CCP says is the squad finder - its bullshit. The squad finder is full of people who others do not want to team with. Whether they be noobs, annoying kids, or pricks who play music in their mics. These are the kind you find in the squad finder.
2. Enjoyment - i don't want to play with losers who need to squad up or q-sync or Proto stomp to be successful. These people are losers who can't cut it in other FPS games and seek to play dust because SP is their crutch, and superior gear is the only way for them to be competitive. They are just losers who need every advantage dust 514 provides them with because CoD and BF4 makes them cry. Its a major problem as a solo, you see nothing but these losers. Just know every time you see a squad that you are better than them, you don't need their scanners or their 7 tanks or other crutches these players use.
The problem isn't so much noobs on your team, every team will have noobs. The problem is unbalanced matchmaking which places noobs in games where they have no chance to even kill someone n Proto gear. Terrible teammates are just more frequent, but it just means you're more likely to lose a match (which isn't important) but has no impact on your enjoyment.
3. Stay to the outside, use drop links to keep you map positioning over your idiot teammates who all want to spawn closest to the front lines and certain death as possible.
Remember there's nothing wrong with having a 28/4 game followed by a 12/14 game. Play for enjoyment and remember only pricks and scrubs need a squad because they can't hack it as a solo.
QFT! That is word for word how i feel about things and why I go lone wolf.
