Hi guys,
Just caught up with 1.8 coming changes.
I am a Scout and I am aiming to have my Profile as low as possible (Stealth/Sneaky type). So far I have leveled up Lv.5 Complex Profile Dampener and Lv.5 Complex Profile Enhancer, & currently using a Gallente Light Frame G-1.
I was wondering if I will get stack penalty by equipping 2X Complex Profile Dampeners on my "Drop Low-Slot Module", or would my Low-Profile decreases more, making me twice as stealthy?
PS: I am going fully Gallente Scout for 1.8 due to their low profile bonus.
My apologies, I still am trying to understand the mechanics of this game and I would love to get advices from the Dust Community.
Thanks! |

I think that if you are skilled to level 5 in gal scout and profile dampening you don't have to bother with dampeners period

I have a feeling most Cal Scouts will be running atleast one Complex Precision Enhancer which will be enough to pick up a Lvl 5 Gal Scout with Lvl 5 Dampening.
A Gal Logi with a Proto Scanner can pick you up too, but you probably won't have to worry about that as much. |

Exactly!
@OP: If stealth is your thing then it should be obvious but don't forget to rock that there cloak field and at least 1 dampener. Or you could ignore the cloak and equip 2 dampeners.

Fake scouts everywhere! anyways fit some damps and shield extenders.
EDIT: If you're new here, i recommend not going in a suit that is going to die easily, the scout has very little health and i really hope you do not tank armor due to loss of speed and slots. Advice from the dust community.... can't say that's going to help...

Advice from the dust community.... can't say that's going to help... True, shield extenders are VERY important. I use my armor as a backup for if I'm in CQC or if I'm facing a proto stomper. The use the dampeners for ranged warefare because if your opponent is in a squad (which is really likely), they will probably coordinate a strategic attack on you so yeah...slap on a basic armor plate and a basic profile dampener if you use the rail rifle/laser rifle, use basic plates if you use the assault rifle/combat rifle, and use enhanced kin cats if you use the shotgun (don't stack them because it seems like the hit detection gets worse the faster you run).

@OP:
TBH this is the best advice the community can give.
Scouts United are always squading up with one another which is very good for field training as you can observe them in there element (3scouts>Proto squad).
R0N1N are a training corp that teaches the scout mindset (without this you will suck for all eternity) as well as helping you with fittings.

For the cost I'd go for reactive plates. 1% & 15 less armor is worth the 2hp/sec reps

Well, any scout can pick you up with 2 precision mods. Of course they won't see you if you're cloaked or have a dampener.
Several scouts will run dual precision mods...not just the Cal. Gallente is another great scanner.

Well I don't know the numbers for 1.8 but I do know a fully skilled GalScout can avoid all fos of detection if he runs 2 complex damps or 1 complex damp and a cloak.
Right now, I can avoid Proto scanners(not focused) with full skills and one MLT damp.

It has been a while since I looked, but I don't think the description of damps says it has a stacking penalty.
Therefore, I don't believe damps have a stacking penalty.

DON'T USE FRAMES! They're more expensive and don't get bonuses. Use other gear such as the militia one until you get Scout G-1.
In my opinion, the G/1 - Series aren't worth the extra isk unless you don't have skills in electronics, engineering, core, or anything that takes away fitting requirements. It's like 7k more isk and you only get 1 more high slot with slightly better CPU and PG.
I use my advanced to snipe, and use remotes with the KR-17 Breach Shotgun that I keep getting from salvage.
Advanced is used for when you want more damage output in my opinion.
The proto takes A LOT of SP, but it will be worth it in the end. I saved up for like 2 or 3 weeks to go from 4 to 5. The fitting is also awesome.
I suggest you run a few Gallente FW matches and save up some LP to buy a few suits to try them out cheaply. Gallente almost never loses so you can relax. You, also, get good scout modules from there such as the Federation Kinetic Catalyzers and the Federation Code Breakers. I forgot if they have dampners or not, but you have the skills to use them and they're pretty cheap anyways. |
