PC is fun, and if you like a good fight, it can be like a drug.
Pubs have NOTHING on a good PC match.
Nothing says "F**K YOU!" like a direct Flaylock to the face.

I concur. Now I'm not a regular PC'er but when I did do it, I remember dying so damn fast! It's so much different than pubs.
I was wondering if the new dropsuits and changes to damage would entice folks to check it out.
I would like to get back into PC just to up my skill level.

A lot of puberz' have an ignorance about PC and how it relates to protostomping.
When really protostomping is nothing like a PC. If you want to get PC stomped, by PC tactics and teams you can do two things.
Play Minmatar FW until you find yourself playing against CHICAGOCUBS4EVER's team. That's about as close as it gets in a pub for PC tactics, etc. But, you'll noticed yourself being redlined and stomped into the ground about 60 seconds after the match started.
Or
You can get a hold of 32 million ISK and buy a clone pack and use it to attack a district in Molden Heath. Then, you'll quickly realize that maybe being protostomped isn't so bad and you'll learn that "protostompers" are actually going easy on you...

I was in quite a few PC's back in August-October. Got tired of it being mostly Fotm Lag spikers.
That being said PC was the most enjoyable thing for me back then. Problem was my Alliance was failing to be up to par with who they fought and a few of the leaders raged on coms during matches.
Got better over time but then the game play got old and activity dwindled. Instead of leaving my Corporation I took a couple months off.
We're back on the rise so hopefully we'll be getting into PC soon (And hopefully I'll log in more than once a week)

No, I won't do PC again until CCP fixes it. I am not a slayer so I am not needed and I don't want to. If am asked I will but until then I won't play unless the logi role is needed because I want to play on a team where all roles are needed not just an UL spammer that can shoot. I haven't done PC in a long time and if it is like it was there is no need for a logi.

Have been in some PC's and got even stomped by Cubs and his gang. I also have been in a PC with AE guys, when they struggled to fill stacked timers.
The quality of organization and skill of their FC's and players is impressive. You won't find a lot of players in their ranks who are not capable of several roles. The FC's seem to know how to organize everything and the players obviously don't need too much comms to do the right thing.
You won't find that in pubs, it's a completely different ballgame.
Pubs are like hordes of chicken with cutoff heads running about and shooting random stuff, with the odd squad or lone wolves doing the right thing. It's pathetic at best.
I like the organized way of PC very much, but due to lack of personal skill, I'll probably never be first rank choice in those.
That's OK, as long as CCP gives us more than the current game mechanics. More gamemodes, more complexity ON THE GROUND is needed.
Nevertheless, It's impressive to see the well oiled machines at work that high ranking PC corps are! |

well, i'm rather new to Fatal Absolution, so naturally i'd assume that i won't get into many PC matches with them. that's not to say that i don't or won't do PC in 1.8, because i have friends from the corp i came from who are PC active, and i help them quite often.

I have noticed a huge improvement recently, the last few weeks I tend to get a steady 30ish, similar to playing on the US servers (I'm EU), you guys should keep it up.

there hasn't been the incentive i want for PC. if we were fighting for private planets in null sec it would appeal to me. what they have right now is a PC minigame, not what they promised. i took one look at the starmap the day it was updated and couldn't see anything but a fancy scoreboard. the days of simple corp battles were over. also the old starmap was 100x more interesting than the current one, even if it served no purpose, it made you speculate on how cool the starmap could become, not what it is now.
then there's the extremely high fanboy factor to deal with in PC, a bunch of condencending know it alls who haven't lost hope yet. if your not running the current FOTM you get snubbed by a bunch of people who do.
u can ban the troll out of the forums but u can't ban the forums out of the troll.

Personally, I think that any score by anyone in any corp should count for something. The fact that it doesn't shows an odd attitude toward what constitutes team play and how people should accomplish it.

at one time the planets we own were supposed to increase production EVE side, that production when then be turned around to make our equipment. but they taped on the current PC minigame and since then stopped talking about that whole idea. who needs metagame when you have minigame?

I love PC. Not for its mechanics or for the isk you gain, but for the competition.
PC is higher level of skill than pubs. It's fun because you don't stomp the enemy team going 20-0 (unless you're kalante)
It's fun because the enemy you're against actually kill you often. Actually try to win.
And it's fun to come out with the W in these matches.

Pubs is the Little League. PC is the Major League. There is really no comparison between the two.
I enjoy both, but prefer PC because of the increased skill level of the opposition, the increased teamwork across squads, and everyone "bringing it". |

I'd like to, if only to see how big a scrub I really am against elite competition. I get an occasional taste in FW but it's not quite the same.
But, 1.8 isn't going to change one of the bigger barriers to me personally, which is real life. Can't play on a schedule. Could have gotten in on some action this morning but had to go to work.

Well, yeah, I understand that it's still the same game mode. It's the sustained high level of organized play that I only get the occasional taste of. Too many of the battles are one sided.

Never done PC, but I'd be interested to try since it seems to be the contracts most preferred by many of the forum regulars/vets.
Don't get me wrong--I'm a public contract guy FTW; I'd just like to play with my favorite community members sometimes.
I was in a public match with Appia Vibbia the other day, it was awesome! Great to snipe/get counter sniped by someone I recognize from the forums, and one whose opinions I respect, no less!
My other dropsuit is a Python.
