The way I see it, the opposite WAS out doing some infantry, but of course the protos and the squads on your team would have none of it and shut them down. So they went to red line sniping and vehicles.
I just dont git it, it amazes me. So everythings fine while you are crushing the the other team. The problem is when they come to crush you back, suddenly you are upset because their equipment nullifies your tactics.
How about, and this is a really radical idea...you dont go and massacre the other team in the first few minutes....and the maybe, just maybe, they will keep fighting on foot instead of giving up and using tanks?
The solutions exist. The problem is that people want to have their cake and eat it too. You want to smash the other team AND have them not be able to do something about it.
I personally love how tanks can be the great equalizer. Im constantly up against people who do nothing else except get into squads and go have 6 vs 1 fights. With the tank, the numbers of the squad get nullified, and I can fight 1 vs 6. |

This game would be half enjoyable if vehicles would be banned from ambush all together. There is no excuse or purpose for vehicles there they just do stat padding by spawnkilling. Even if you manage to barricade yourself into a building you cant get out. Cause all exits are camped by tanks.
1.8 will be a huge disaster due to the dropsuit refund. Cause allmost nobody with half a brain will get back into dropsuits. Instead they will dump every single skillpoint into vehicles. The last event is a prime example. I see now twice as much vehicles as before and the numbers are growing with each day. I even go so far that AV should be buffed by 50% just to be half capable to deal with the overwhelming numbers of tanks and derpships that are crawling around.
Oh and one more thing CCP. GG stands for "get good" not "good game".
I don't care how good fehicles are I'm not putting SP into them because I don't enjoy tanks even if they are EZ mode. This is because: the nerf hammer will come down on tanks, Av will eventually get buffed, there are no Amarr tanks or lazor turrets yet!
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

I agree with the sentiment of your post. But its not like the protostomp corps are above pulling out a half dozen tanks too.

lol @ people accusing me of stat padding. I run infantry allmost every time and if i dont watch out for 1 sec i get killed by some grunt with a militia AR. While on the other side a grunt in a militita tank barely takes damage from proto AV. And needing a tank to get rid of a tank makes the whole idea of AV useless. And no needing 2 people to "work together" is not balanced to get rid of a vehicle which is solo operated.

Note: I use a 4k ISK scout-suit to take down MLT tanks operated by bad drivers. But I can confirm that of the selection of AV available in the game, only higher-tier Forge Guns are truly viable against non-bad tankers in non-crappy fits.
Edit: I have run the numbers, and, in Uprising 1.8, my most-used AV-fit will no longer be viable largely due to the reduced number of grenades.

Yesterday I played with guy using Breach Forge Gun. MLT tank 1-2 shots. Standard 2-3. All they need is little help from logi or any other class that can take care of infantry.
Problem is most of the time people instead group up in a place that can be easy defended, safe from tanks are going outside to be stomped. That happens on ambush's "bridge" map. People got 2 or 3 building areas yet they want to be crushed on bridge... |

So in order for that to work the tank must be in your line of sight for 18 secs, not shoting you cause that forge imobalise you while charging and the infantry around you should aswell not shot you. Sure its "possible" but it is aswell possible that i charge into a room full of heavys as scout, only armed with a nova knife and kill them all.
