It is explosive. They're still going to be **** poor in 1.8 no matter what you do.

Yer I just rechecked and the minny assault bonus is projectile I forgot, also 25% of 3 is less than one derr. Also (I think) The min commando would get the same dmg output from the swarms post 1.8 with 2 complex damage mods, as any suit with 2 cmplx dmg mods now, except the commando post 1.8 would need prof 5 in swarms. And almost 30% of that wouldn't effect shields....
Damn, ok well I give up.

Damn, ok well I give up. You should realize that it's an anti-armor specialized AV weapon, unlike the forge gun, plasma cannon, and future heavy Gallente AV, which are hybrids and deal roughly equal damage to shield and armor.
It's like asking for your mass driver to be effective against shield as well as armor.

You mean swarms would be effected by the Minmatar Commando bonus to explosive weapon damage because they're a Caldari weapon?
If I'm understanding you right, you're wrong. The only thing that matters is that swarms are explosive weapons, and the MinCom will get bonus to explosive weapon damage.
This occurs to me as a good place to plug weapon types and damage types. In DUST we have Laser, Hybrid - Plasma, Hybrid - Rail, Projectile, and Explosive weapons that have fixed damage modifiers against shields and armor. CCP should do in DUST what the do in EVE and make weapon types Energy, Hybrid, Projectile, and Missile and they would do some combination of the following damage types, EM, Thermal, Kinetic, and Explosive.

I assume that second dropsuit should say vehicle.
Also, don't bother shooting Gunnlogis with hardeners on. (For the most part.)
