Damn, ok well I give up. You should realize that it's an anti-armor specialized AV weapon, unlike the forge gun, plasma cannon, and future heavy Gallente AV, which are hybrids and deal roughly equal damage to shield and armor. It's like asking for your mass driver to be effective against shield as well as armor.

Comparing AP weapons to AV isn't really a good basis for an argument, as their uses and engagement terms vastly differ.
