I'm glad we got DS Command refunded, that was fairly necessary... All the rest of it would be nice but i would be putting most of it back into the same stuff.
With the new changes to proficiency I see no reason to go any more than prof 2 in any weapon, so it would be nice to get my AR SP back... But if my option was to refund ARs or to get 3 mil SP for playing 10 games ill just take the free SP. I get the same amount of SP back either way but now I get to keep ARs in case they are ever worth running again. I like how you think.

Why should the aristocracy care about all these plebs and their small litle problems?
Let them get proto stomped even more by players With an arsenal of various setups and tactics.
Keep the plebs Down!
- They obviously don't know whats best for them anyway, they are here mostly to fund the mediocre through taxes so that the mediocre can hire in the Elite so that they don't lose all the time.
Everything is working as intended, or I would rather say: "Sure, why not?" And that type of thinking right there is partly why this game does not attract nor keep a decent amount of players. @ the OP - The weapons changes will only slightly reduce TTK at best. The RR will still be too powerful, the CR will still be the weapon of choice inside 50 ish meters. The charge scrambler rifle might actually be more balanced now, I'm not sure. I still think its rate of fire will be too high. And the AR will still be of limited use while its variants will totally suck. Nope, still no balance here. And this is partly why I feel the way I do. I can agree with you. Useless clutter.

Funny thing is, I have far fewer points "wasted" in dropsuit command than I have in mostly useless skills in modules I never will equip. So, the sp event is going to help me much more than the refund.

Ccp should make it to where all sp spent somehow benefits all fits you build. Every mod improvement should raise the base stats of all suits, even if the module isn't installed, just larger when it is. That way, it's almost impossible to look at spent sp as wasted. They could even roll in small universal bonuses for number of weapons and vehicles skilled into.

Seems quite unfair that command is being refunded without the weapons and core skills. The introduction of new side arms , changing the method of performance of damage mods , changes to equipment and suit bonuses garnered a change to something that would have been more appropriate for a true release.
Roles were incomplete and all the suits and weapons were not available but now these problems are being solved while new one's arise ... like the fact that the refund is not being handled with care.
Players had to choose weapons and suits to survive , so now with more of a true selection players who have settled for less can now play to their full potential.
Core and weapons should have been refunded as well so that players could go " fully racial " and play to their races play types. This is truly being hindered from the way that the refund is being handled.
Reasons could be given as well as examples but I'm sure that there is nothing that I could say that most already do not understand ... all I would like to see is a reconsidering of the refund for racial distribution fairly and correctly.
Just refunding the command is half @$$ing it . No offence but it's true. Allow the merc's of Dust 514 to be all that they can be. That's because CCP fcking locks them all so they can pile them all in the respec discussion thread and never read them. This might be true. Sad if it is. It really is true look up respec in the search bar and every thread is locked after 10 minutes by Logibro redirecting it to the respec thread. Talk about authoritarian.

I think this maybe might have something to do with the fact that in the weeks leading up to the announcements about 1.8 there were about a dozen threads a day made by guys who thought THEIR opinion was so much more special and important and intelligent than everybody else's that it warranted their own special thread
Remember when CCP finally announced the dropsuit respec and GD was completely locked down with "BAWWWW WHY ONLY DROPSUITS"?

Vulpes Dolosus wrote:Rebalance and new, unique content (not filler, like the suits) do not warrant a respec.
The reason we are getting a dropsuit refund is because the dropsuits coming out now should have been out since the beginning, and it gives the opportunity to get out of a filler dropsuit (e.g. there was only one heavy, now you actually have a choice) without changing your specialized role (so it's not a respec per se).
Your core and weapon skills should still, for the most part, support the role you chose (apart from armor or shield skills).
For a rebalancing or new content I would agree, but a complete skill change of course justifies as refund of every affected skills the same is true for a change of roles.
By the current respec CCP forces players to into a certain direction. Lets say you have skilled into the Gall logi both for lore and the skill and the only equipment you have is the reptool because you like being the nice guy.
By the way CCP handles this topic you are now forced to switch to minmatar Logi to keep you reptool powerfull or you choose to stay with the gal Logi but you now have a rather useless bonus and a way weaker reptool.
Note this won't be a big problem for fresh or veteran players but for those who have roughly between 10 and 15 mil SP with one suit and role specced out. |

I see no problem with being locked and redirected to the relevant respec thread. CCP set it up a while ago, so most know that if they want to talk about the respec they should go to that thread. People post here because they are a bunch of crybabies that want the newest shiny FOTM but don't have enough thanks for the fact that they will have at least another 2 mil SP with the command respec to fill out their new suit. You'll probably get a bit longer with this thread before the Devs drop around so keep going and the rest of us will enjoy your tears. |

Oh god no. Seriously, you really don't want that. Currently you can reach an equal playing field with me on one of my builds for about 7mil sp (exact same stats). 10 max for some builds, depends on what skills I'm making use of.
But with your idea vets will always have an advantage. Currently you can match them fairly quickly by speccing a certian specific role. PC will become only accessable to those with >30mil SP at least. |

Shinobi MumyoSakanagare ZaShigurui wrote:I apologize if it sounds like complaining. It just would have been nice to have these options right out the door from the beginning and now it just seems like I have to bend over because of something that was not my fault ... by not having these choices from the start. Let me share the view of a tanker from 1.7 transition.
Tanking is worse now while being more accessible to more Mercs. From the business view that is good because those with AUR can buy into a decent enough tank with little SP. If they want to convert to ISK version those with AUR are more likely to use boosters (one would think).
However the obvious decline in worth, abilities and design of Tanks generated massive hate, QQ and threats to leave Dust. About a month before 1.7 they finally posted that a SP refund was on the table although so was everything else. Nothing was final, so shut up basically.
Well, tankers didn't shut up. They kept the QQ, hate and 'I am done with Dust' comments going. Then a week or so before 1.7 even the dullards at CCP/Shanghai realized that there was no way to use the old Skill Tree for any vehicle system going forward. They had changed nearly everything in it. Finally they announced that 1.7 will include the SP refund demanded by many, which would include 'Reality' as well.
This time, the Drop Suit Command Skill Tree is being reset because there is no way to use the old with the complete, missing the middle suits CPU, PG and slot remix they will do at some non-defined future date with no SP refund.
However from the view of a Merc, there are many Upgrades and Weapons I would not have skilled into, AT ALL, with the bonuses in the various suits being what they are. But as stated by others, it is not the end of the world. Just a waste of several million SP. CCP is committed to Dust taking seven or more years to fill out the Skill Tree. That means no refunds for Upgrades and Weapons while demanding an ever increasing number of weapons and abilities.
Hope this help you see the situation. As I see it anyway, there is no way to see it the same way as CCP sees it.
And so it goes.
