----I'm assuming here that CCP is going to remove the ability to stick remotes onto vehicles in 1.8. If they've decided against it, disregard my post. Otherwise, I hope we can voice our opinion and make JLAVs an actual thing as opposed to an "unwanted" side effect----
As the person who's supposed to be on the receiving end of JLAVs, I enjoy them. They add variety to an otherwise dull infantry AV, comprised of mostly assault forge guns and varying levels of swarms.
They also put real pilot skill to the test, as opposed to just the SP and ISK through your fitting. No matter what your fitting is, it won't save you from a JLAV that successfully rams into you (because chances are, your hardener wasn't running because you weren't expecting it). JLAVs test a pilot's battlefield awareness more than anything. SP or ISK won't save you.
I think the removal of JLAVs will only give 0 SP militia tanks a bigger crutch to roam around on. Chances are that they have poor battlefield awareness, and I think it's quite common among them (I've noticed that it's rather easy for me to stalk a militia tank if I wanted to rather than blowing them up from behind on the spot). Poor awareness means that you're easy pickings for a JLAV. And if they are removed, then those "pilots" get it a lot easier to roam around slaughtering infantry.
I do not condemn JLAVs as a scrub tactic as some other tankers might do. I find them to be a creative way to expand infantry's AV options. I'd probably even try to do it myself just for fun if I wasn't so cheap on my SP, as I don't want to spend any one of my precious SP on getting some levels in remotes.

Just strap REs on and kill NPC civilians to secure districts.
I love it! We wouldn't have JLAVs nor a want to keep them if there was more AV variety in the first place. You infantry keep getting new weapons to kill each other with while vehicles vs AV is stuck with the same two weapons since beta. I'm tired of facing the same old swarm and forge; I want new stuff to look out for.
