That is a pretty good bonus. It means you can run Ferroscale armor without having to worry about repping. In away it was like a hidden third slot. Even though most people don't value it, I will say that if you live long enough you will definitely come to depend on it.
CCP please don't remove the built in rep, the Minmatar Assault is still.the worst Assault and this change will only make it more obvious.

The auto-rep that Matari has (until 1.8) is moving to become the racial Gallente bonus. Honestly, it never really made much sense for the Minmatar, who rely on speed and shield tanks (or merely speed and damage mods, and no tank), to have a built in armor rep bonus, other than on low tier suits, and only then to compensate them for the lack of a low-slot. |

I never thought it made much sense on Minmatar suits. I think changes might be needed to make the Minmatar assault better, just not that.

Caldari shield HP 250 armor HP 175 also +4% shield resistance to all damage
Gallente shield HP 200 armor HP 225 also +7.5% repair module effectiveness
Minmatar Shield HP 225 armor HP 225 +7.5% faster shield recharge rate over the Caldari frames
As i recall 1.8 is all about increasing TTK so why not these values they are 50% of the EVE online equivalent frigates with a built in tank boost based on the EVE online factions.
I could give you 10 reason why the Dust team cant get the Amarr tank style right but they are all out of care.

It made perfect sense from a balance stand-point. The suit had the lowest ehp of all assaults (of its class, and almost all of the logis, too), had the worst slot loadout of all suits, and required hybrid tanking to survive, which negates the only other true bonus the suit had: fast run speed. I am not even bringing up that the Minmatar Logi had a faster shield regen time and rate (ignoring the current Assault bonus, at prototype level, Min assault gets 22/tick vs 20/tick of the Min Logi... the 1 hp to armor was overshadowed, greatly, by the 5 hp that the Min Logi got, however). I played Min Assault since I started the game, and wreck prototype suits even when using an Advanced Min Assault (no damage mods, either), but the suit has MASSIVE flaws and the 1 hp/tick was a small bone thrown to an otherwise hard class to fit, hard class to play properly, and in the end-game, near useless. Have you ever wondered why 95% of all Min Assaults you see are pure trash? It probably isn't their skill level... but fitting the suit is a nightmare and if not fit properly, nearly impossible to play with.
ETA: Before you cry me a river about the 5 highs, 2 lows, keep in mind the pg/cpu constraints of the suit, and how much pg/cpu it takes to fit the 5 highs WITH a prototype weapon... until I got 5 in Core Upgrades, Engineering, and Electronics, I had to run basic modules to fit a prototype light weapon, and even after, still use a basic in low slots, basic sidearm, and a basic grenade, and can't even fit equipment. Oh, and because of it, the suit had 650 hp... and has no speed advantage as all shots land now.

Any Min Assault with no tank and all damage mods would be unable to fit a weapon. They might be able to fit a basic one, maybe even an advanced, but at the cost of next to no-lows, no side arm, and no equipment. The cost of the damage mods are to great to make that even close to viable... let alone, the suit having around 250-300 ehp with no tank means you'll get 1 shot by scrambler rifles, and your time to live under any enemy gun fire is less than 0.2 seconds. Bad assumption there...
Min Assaults at proto level will, at most, run 2 dmg mods, and then have to spend the rest of their cpu/pg on a weapon and tank so that they can survive.

So basicly if I read your numbers correct you want to give minmatar the highest eHP (wich should go to the Amarr) the fastest Recharge (which i would agree with) and want them to be the fastest???
Further you want to give gallente the lowest eHP by far?

The armor rep never made sense on the minmatar suit. And honestly the minni assault is more than a decent suit with a great bonus.
Its just a highly specialized suit as well as the amarr suit is highly specialized where as currently the Cal and Gal Suits are more versatile.
Although i have to admit that the slot layout doesn't make that much sense on the assault suit, its breaking th overall minmatar concept.
Imho Assault suit slot layout should be as follows:
Amarr: 3H / 4L (maybe 3/3 if the high CPU/PG advantage stays) Caldari: 5H / 2L Gallente: 2H / 5L Minmatar: 4H / 3L
That would be more in line withe current suit setup...

In my opinion if your relying on the 1hp/s your doing it wrong 2-300 armour will simply take too long to regen. There is absolutely no point. Its a perk and nothing more.
Yes it is a nice addition to the repper I already install but I'm fine with it going. We get better shield delays and stamina recovery now.

Actually what doesn't make sense is the 5/2 on minmatar assault.
Needs to switch with the Caldari, that would make more sense anyways. Minmatar 4/3 and caldari 5/2

The built in repair makes sense to me. Minmatar tech is built and designed out of junk parts. That's why when you look at their ships you see all kinds of girders sticking out and rusty metal. Like a well designed old car, I'd expect their suits to be easy to fix. |

How about this.. This game is set 20000 some odd years into the future where I'm sure each race has built there own battle tatic but the thing that stands out in a game like this is survivability what do you fall back on when your main tatic of choice fails? You make a contingency plan I e innate armor repair for non armor tanked unit. Plenty of times iv ran minny and barely escape a fire fight only to have to wait for my main defense to come back and then I can only engage other personnel at 40 to 50% of my current fighting ability due to the fact most engagements send my front line suit down to 10 to 15 out of 169 armor and 212 shields. And don't tell me get gud or speed tanking bro. Cuz I'll tell you flat out speed tanking is only x amount effective. I purpose this non armor tanking units ( caldari , minmatar) get a built in 1hp s repair rate and armor tankers (amarr , gallente) get and upwards of 3 hps for repair cuz I'm sorry you will not always be able to reply on a logi , supply depot Or your own nano hives. To much of the throw meat into grinder until it clogs mindset. Special with minny clones. Just my thought. |

Dude I feel you! The Minmatar need so much help compared to the other races. It takes an intense amount of concentration to run and is extremely unconventional.
The issue with the Minmatar are that they employ Guerilla style warfare. Which isn't that bad, but the problem is that they don't mirror it well enough. Guerilla style warfare employs a couple if maneuvers: speed (check), stealth (none), lower economic cost (nope), high damage (sort of).
So really all the Minmatar have is a little bit of speed, and a large amount of armor removed, as well as CPU/PG.
Totally going to spec out in 1.8.

Lol I hear you on that I disagree about the armor removal due to the FA t that the front line didn't have a low slot to negate the already low armor it has. I haven't maxed my CPU or pg so I don't know what to say about that. I'm just a new player 12 mil sp and dual spec ads and minny assault so I got some catching up to do. |

Just removing the passive armour rep will kill the Minmatar assault. Either change the slot layout to 4/3, and change Caldari assault to 5/2 - this makes the most sense to me - or just leave our passive armour rep alone. I honestly cannot see why you're even considering nerfing what is clearly the weakest assault suit in the game. |

That rep has saved me more times then i could count.. In Urgent Fury Tournament to every day PC's to Pubs...
The speed of the Minmatar Assault right now is worth Less then the 1 HP/Sec Armor rep.
That change alone nerfs the suit immensely and hurts it a lot. Having only 2 low slots and no health points.. is gonna limit this suit.
From someone sticking out the Minmatar Assault and have ran it exclusively since Uprising Launch... I Don't see the suit competitive in 1.8... And for those reasons I can't continue to run it..
Minmatar Assault... Victim of Un Intentional Nerf's in 1.1,1.2,1.3,1.4,1.5,1.6,1.7..... And now 1.8 will put the nail in the coffin officially. I thought Logi slayers where the problem? Shameful understanding of the game CCP... Hope this wasn't based on inactive in DUST, CPM's that have giant opinions on the game they barely play.

these are eve like stats however eve is a simple ship sim not a FPS the minmatars speed would give it a huge advantage as some one has mentioned so .....

now on the gallente perhaps a 10% bonus to armor repair modules would give them sufficient lower down time to comp for the lower effective Hit Points.
Now for those who have never played EVE online the above are the tank styles of the factions so when the dust team anounced that the sentinel bonuses are going to be
Amarr +15 to armor +10 to shield Gallente +15 to armor +10 to Amor
thats a HUGE TROLL MOVE
the Amarr and Gallente are armor tanks just give them both 2 armor resistances. and stop trolling.

The min assault should have regen qualities as a balance to the low ehp. it is primarily shield with dual tank ability with armor. My fitting usually uses a slot for cpu and i even have electronics and engineering both to five. Leaves me with only 1 slot for an armor to boost ehp or find a kincat or dampener. Very limited ability to say the least That 1 hp is marginal but you rely mostly on shields but you get a little rep with your already paltry armor to regain what little armor you have in downtime when you lose your shields. This has kept me alive for quite a bit. It wasn't a necessity but it did make a difference.
However the removal of the 1 hp has really hurt this suit more than you think. I am convinced that the suit layout is faulty. The suits versatility could be vastly increased by flipping the caldari and min slot layout.
THE BEST FIX: 4H/3L min assault would be much better. Also because you lose the one high slot for shield, the base health of minmatar shields should reflect a built in enhanced/complex shield. Base shield stat should be increased by 33 or 66. Also 3-5 more pg per suit so the min could use the low slot for pg intensive. it could use armor or its real module of choice, kincats for speed tank.
