Sometimes I see a particle cannon tank in the hills and I gib it with my own. (Haha implying there are matches without railgun snipers)
They usually pull a new tank and try to kill me. Usually they fail. (I mean, people who hang out in he hills usually aren't too crash hot at actually driving)
Sometimes they pull another tank for me to kill. (Which is always nice, I like warpoints)
Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they decide they're super-scrubs and pull a Jihad Jeep.
When this happens, even should I be killed I laugh like a hyena, because I know, absolutely and incontrovertibly, that I won that battle completely.
(Note that I'm not suggesting that Jihad Jeeps are inherently a scrub tactic; I have no issues with them while AV is in its current state. The scrubs are the people who have proto turrets and still do it, not for amusement, but because they can't kill me otherwise.)
This has happened three times in the past week (during which I haven't exhausted even half my cap, to show how common this is). One of these times I was using a rail tank; twice it has happened while I was using undeniably UP Large Missile Turrets.
Real men do it with missiles.

I was quite specific, I thought.
I laugh when scrubs who can't do the job with their particle cannons kill me with JLAVs

Killed someone's Gunnlogi 3 times. Guy makes a Jihad Jeep, tries to ram me. Throw up my hardeners at the last second (little game I like to play) and he doesn't even get me to half shield.
Jihad Jeeps, when they have killed me, have all been because I didn't see them coming. It is a novel tactic, and I gladly endorse keeping it in the game. The only caveat I would have is to limit the amount of RE that can be placed on a vehicle before they start disappearing. Perhaps 3 or 4. Such an ISK efficient tactic should come with limits as to how much damage they can do.
Best PVE idea I've seen.

I love jihad law ( I don't use that tactic ) but I love the fact that you can do it in the game. It ads realism to the game if nothing else. It's so cool when some one gets so pissed about tanks that they go jihad. ( also realistic )
Most fun is when you c a full LAW ( 3 ppl) slam right into a tank blowing everything and everyone to pieces.

against rail tanks the JLAVs are undeniably better than another rail because it is hard to hit them with a cannon while they're moving. On the other hand it is very hard to get a blaster tank with a JLAV but way to easy with a railgun.

It's essentially a matter of class and a test of skill.
The fact that they lost so dramatically amuses me.
Now, if you have no SP into tanks, that's another matter entirely. But if you pull a decent tank (hereby judged as a fitted Maddy or Gunny running something other than an MLT turret) you've just agreed to fight by a different set of rules.
Winning at all costs, sure, but you do it inside your tank.
Real men do it with missiles.

Tankers adapt and die with honor.
To be honest You will be scrub for av jihadinians, and they will be scrubs for you. It depend on specific point of view. For me it was fun to Jihad tank by free bpo fit in bpo lav :) It's just soo soo cheap (no isk, time and -1 k/d ratio). Zoom out that cannon so U will know somebody's watching U. And don't You think hardners should block or affect overdrive module? |

I haven't needed a jihad jeep for quite a long time, since tanks are sooooooo much better.
jihads aren't even in the same ******* league...no...not even the same ******* planet as the OP nature of tanks.
seriously I am an AV specialist, and I don't mean that within terms of the gameplay or class, I do what ever it takes to blow up your tank, and trust me ji hads don't even compare, to anti tanking with tanks.
jihad's are functionally the same as a shotgun scout taking on a heavy hmg user, with the one difference that they need to die to do it, and take about 2 minutes to respawn if they fail or to even try the first time( takes awhile to call in and setup the jeep ).
it's a last ditch infantry AV method, it's not some super strong tactic,it's desperation personified.
as for laughing about getting blown up, they are laughing longer and harder because their jeep is free and a tank steam rolling scrubs is nothing special, they are used to ti and just enjoy watching your tanks burn. |

Lorhak, if you can ever get over your personal arrogance long enough to consider the reality of the fight you are in you might realize how incredibly weak your arguments against JLAVs are.

But you have adapted and used skills and options at your disposal to mitigate that threat as much as possible.

No whine threads.
When I get hit by a Jihad Jeep feel the same way. It means I have incontravertedly done exactly what I was designed to do on the battlefield and my opponent was incapable of destroying me by any other means.
I consider that a fair loss because frankly speaking JLAVers aren't to bright.....whey else would they rush me time and time again only to be blown up by their own remotes 50m from my.

I don't see it as OP
OP: ADJ, (OVERPOWERED): (1) Performs outside of its intended role. Example: rail gun turret which is a more efficent infantry killer than a blaster turret. (2) Having no counter other than itself. Example: A drop ship carrying high altitude bombs that can only be killed by another bomber.

The only way to counter a shield rail tank is with another shield rail tank. Good luck destroying it with either missiles or a blaster (though I'm against giving blasters much AV capabilities). Even still, a blaster tank should be able to wear down a railgun tank by dancing around it long enough.

I destroy shield rails with a blaster all the time.
That's not to say they arent essentially my hard counter but most rail tankers either snipe from the redline or are stupid enough to come to me.
If they stay redlined I don't need my HAV and recall.
If they come to me 1 of two things happens
I die quickly.
Or they die embarrassingly.

HAVs are a scrub tactic. See now thats just plain illogical.
I see JLAV as breaking of immersion but not OP or scrubby, just plain desperate.
HAV are not a scrub tactic. HAV arent even a tactic, they are a unit, and an aspect of a tactic.
Fundamentally all aspect of Dust from Tanking to sniping and back to AVing are the same so you are making a statement logically equivalent to "I am also a ....".
All require sound rationalising of situation, aim, positioning, correct module and weapon selection.
