While both have the reload speed bonus (caldari only on rail weapons), 1 gets extra dmg and the other extra CPU/PG which wont make a big difference because this will be invested on shiels/armor most likely and still wont be as much as the ehp of the commando. As you can see, caldari commando is far superior to the caldari assault on being an offensive threat. There must be something wrong with the cal assault skill bonus.

(it use to be +5% to projectile light/sidearm and + 1 explosive clip size per level.)
I dont understand why did the min assault lost its bonus to explosive bonus clip size, it did perfect sense with the min commando dmg bonus. Keeping it the way it was could have helped the min assault which is fast and fragile (more fragile without the 1 armor repair /sec) to become a more adaptable threat.
Note: Im not very experineced at posting topics yet, also it seems for me that amarr and gallente commando-assault both excel on its own areas, the 2nd being very good at keeping a constant aggro with its 2 armor repair/sec.
Commando is a unit which deals an impressive amount of damage. He's the "Weapon Master".
Assault is more an "All-around" soldier (Not Jack of all trades !). He's way faster (Speed is a Huge factor, it makes the diffrence between life and death while ehp is not that much a differance). Lower Scan profile. (With some passive skills he can bybass passive radars and even active.).
It's really 2 diffrent role. An "assault" on an objective is almsot impossible with only Commandos, they're too slow, they will "maybe" be able to run to the objective once but the time they get to the objective, everybody has respawn.
The best exemple is to compair Tanks to LAV (In BF). Tanks are slower but have more ehp and more firepower. But LAV are really faster, can get the tanks by manoeuver. |
