As one of the dudes speccing Caldari logi about 10 minutes after launch, I've gotten lots of QQ for me being a "FOTM" Chaser, EZ-moder, tryhard and slayerlogi. All of which I've found to be wrongful seing that my original reason for speccing into the suit, the loss of that second Equipment slot from the proto Assault suits still stands.
I've made up my mind and I've decided to keep this suit. It might be far from the best logi suit, especially cosidering the Amarr and Gallentes obvious strengths for PC. But I reckon it will still be a very solid suit for my preffered role as "support With a punch".
So, will this suit for some Gods now what reason be considered as FOTM and will it get another too harsh nerf 3 months after the release of 1.8?
When I QQed about its loss of CPU (I did not QQ about the Shield nerf, that was needed) I got several dudes claiming that "the suit was obviously OP" and that it "was my own fault for speccing into into it cause it was so obvious that it would get nerfed later".
So I ask you, generic Betterwissers of the forums. Which suit is obviously OP this time and should be avoided cause its such an obvious case of it being nerfed in the near future?

In all honesty, i feel like heavies. Resistance bonuses, and a really good weapon (hmg).
Tankers- 'Hit us when are hardeners are down"

The closest I've seen to 'obviously' OP is heavies, but we'll have to wait and see.
Scouts might become kinda FoTM because of cloaks, but honestly I think people who spec into scouts expecting EZ mode will be disappointed. If scouts, especially gal scouts look like they are being abused in any way, I'm sure I won't be the only scout calling for a nerf.
I kinda wish more infantry roles required niche talent - a bit like good DS pilots. It does irritate me that whatever build we are in, some kind gank/tank fit automatically becomes FoTM...

I doubt any Caldari suit will be FoTM with the shield armor unbalance.
If you like the suit, use it. Don't worry about being accused of FoTM chasing.
I've been told that people prefer fake smiles over the honest expressions of their fellow men. : )

If you are using the suit "as intended" then nerfs usually don't hurt so much. Logi with a punch is a needed role but the assault should punch harder and faster. As long as you are having fun with the suit I wouldn't worry too much what me or anyone else says, you will know if it is OP when you use it and if it is then you should expect a nerf. What we need is feedback on the suit that isn't personal. If a lot of mercs give feedback then the buff/nerf won't be as bad.

Sentinels, mr elephant, sentinels.
oh my gewrd. DPS on 4 rifles being reduced plus those damage reductions, and reduced damage from splash damage (looking at you REs and MD buff) I expect plenty of ACR and AScRs so Amarr and Minmatar Sentinels would be the wise choice if you want to go FOTM.
Against their nemeses' weapons they have nearly twice the lifespan than their Assault suit counterpart at the same tier. They are going to be so amazing!

The sentinel. I'm marking it as the 1.8 FotM. I have REALLY wanted a Caldari heavy suit, but I'm not putting SP into one until well after 1.8.

Looking at the figures and my current cal logi fitting I could quite easily fit the standard cloak with a few tweaks to my current fit - whether or not that fitting is viable in 1.8 remains to be seen? But you should know by now, everything will change...and change is good *nod* embrace the change. |
