hmmmm seems like new characters should start with no isk, it's not really that big of a deal since they all have their free suits, and can then gain that 250k in 1-2 matches.
sure it would hurt the NPE a tiny bit, but the NPE needs to be revamped as a whole anyway.
I'd say give them a free set of gear but ultimately when the market hits players will be able to start this process over if the gear is worth any substantial amount of value, unless the rookie gear was marked as unsellable.
edit --------
other option is to implement an option where players aren't allowed to trade until they have played 30 games on the account, players can give them isk but they cannot trade out. it's more elegant I suppose, and would resolve this quickly I believe. |

sure it would hurt the NPE a tiny bit, but the NPE needs to be revamped as a whole anyway. Skills cost isk and when you dont know what buttons do what, thats quiet hard to ear.
my newest suggestion would resolve this better, i don't believe 250k goes very far towards new skills, and you'd get that much from an academy game anyway, but regardless the fix posted above allows them to have their 250k but keeps it from being reasonably farmable. |

I created 6 different toons, 5 of them to play around with new stuff before speccing my main. How many others have done this?
Also, random letter names are not always alts. I've seen plenty of non-english speaking players who type in random letter names because they cant spell english words.
I will say nice work on the data you have compiled, but i think you have still made too many assumptions. Maybe im just old-school and still have a lot of e-honor in me, but i highly doubt more than a handful of people are doing this
my solution would not effect any legitimate new players. it would only address the abuse. |
