The balance between keyboard and mouse and controller, reaction time and delay.
Controller: Say you've been spotted and shot in the back you move you're thumb away from R3 and press X which delays you from turning quickly.
Keyboard + mouse: You jump with left hand thumb to jump while swinging the mouse to to a 180 degree and kill the guy who shot you quickly.
This is how when you get the jump on people, they bunny hop too fast for you to kill him in time before he kills you.
Assassination is my thing.

I use the side of my thumb to do that, but mouse and kb would be better...
What if there was an option to press in L3 twice and you could jump without letting go of R3?

Even better is the Frag FX Shark. Press the x button on the mouse in the right hand while moving the stick on the chuck in the left hand. AWESOME!

The only thing that's better than DS3 about the keyboard and mouse is the strafing, and (maybe) aiming, although aim assist has killed that...
I think I'm a forum warrior level 6 :D

Aiming at anything closer than 30m with the mouse is utterly terrible, due to the amount of randomness introduced into reticule movement. Jumping in general is a pretty terrible idea unless you're trying to get over something you can't just run over. This isn't quake. |

I know its slightly odd but if im in this scenario I tend to slide my index finger down to X, middle finger up to R1 and it seems to work fine once you get used to it.
Not ideal but it works.
If you can't accept change, you will fail in this world.
