 25% salvage is fine, just give more LP and give some standings to the top 3-5 players on the losing side. (It takes a herculean effort to get to level 10 for Amarr or Caldari as it stands)

 What would be nice is if the LP payout for a loss depended on how much damage was dealt to the opposing MCC. That way, even if you know its a loss there is still some incentive to play hard until the end.
 
 More salvage isn't bad either as a way to incentivize continued effort even after an assured loss.

 An open market is needed for the current LP payout to seem fair. How much ISK would you pay for a specialist item? The problem is there is no incentive for loyalty or an open market ATM.

 Player trading wouldn't really fix the problem of FW payouts being low. Aside from the few specialist weapons and equipment that perform better than anything on the market, everything has an identical item on the market. That means you can calculate the value of the LP, and we can safely assume that the isk prices of gear won't be going *up* when we begin to be able to sell our excess gear.
 
 The few times I've calculated the value of the LP for winning a FW match it was around 140k isk. It does at least make killing a blinged out protosuit pretty funny.

 800 lp payout at level 1 would fix that
 Going up by 200 or 300 lp per level
