TLoU does not look better than a well built PC game maxed out on capable hardware. They did some fancy work with the game, and for how terribad the PS3 is, they did an incredible job on it. To say it looks better than almost all PC games though is uninformed and a tad offensive. Agreed Himiko, Dust needs to get on PS4 asap simply because they clearly need more hardware. This game will never be much more than it is now until they can get to a better platform. PS3 limitations... so sad.
NOPE boyo just no, do you ever played motorstorm for example in multi. There was better gaphic level than here, or what about AC, Mirror edge and now GTA. Whole story isnt in weak Ps3, but in poor optimization of engine.

I think it sounds like you just liked the art style of the game then. In terms of straight fidelity, TLoU was not that impressive. Its easy to say TLoU beats out unmodded 16-bit games from the 80s... okay sure. But anything released with a similar development budget and in the same year or later for the PC... I would say most of those games are able to achieve higher fidelity than TLoU was.

No, it didn't. It had good character models, which is where the majority of the system resources went into. The actual environmental textures were average, and the areas were small to keep things manageable. The game also did an INCREDIBLE amount of pre-loading to make it all work. It was a good game, and it probably did push the PS3 about as far as it could go, but it did not trump other games graphically when resource management, complete environment detail and total area used are taken into account. Don't even try to say that it looks better than almost all PC games, because that is a bald faced lie. I can mod the hell out of 2002's Morrowind on PC until it looks better than Last of Us. Let's not even go into more recent games. From what you just said I can tell You have no Idea how Developers us resources of both consoles and PC. all games have a area of texture load that is centered on the charecter for full res textures and outside that area of texture load are lower res textures but since they are farther away they appear smaller so you don't really notice the difference. now most AAA PC games allow you to adjust this setting. Your comment about what I said being a "bald faced lie" Is a lie itself Because out of all the Games that come out on PC only very few actually Look better than The Last Of Us, Witch is probably around 20-25 and that is being generous. |

Well, yes and no in my opinion you can have textures at 10k and the game can still look bad without environmental effects, ( like water reflections) ,physics, and proper 3D models and animations the game will not be as Graphically amazing as others. Joels backpack had low res textures on it Know but the Devs put and an overlaying pattern on it to make it less noticeable. I am not saying The Last Of Us had higher resolution textures than all PC games but they everything was better applied than most games. that is what I am saying. And that is what Dust needs to do on the PS3. |

Maybe thats that big story, what they advertise before. Higher resolution pack. Because Dust with its bugs, lag and "welcome2daFlatland" enviroment just sufocating already mediocre game.

Look,we are years from ever saying that this game is even on par with any of the top AAA games of the last gen,so for the future of the game, developing on outdated underpowered hardware is just further and further setting this game back from being viable.
So let's say four years from now,Dust has all of it's in game assets and is running pretty good as far as glitches and bugs.Well so f'n what. All that will be left for CCP is the 500 or so players that are left playing it,because in four years, devs making games on current gen consoles will make Dust look like something that belongs on Colecovision.
Without a move to better hardware, this game is ultimately going nowhere and will be done better by another company with better skills, thus making Dust irrelevant in the gaming landscape. |

Honestly, The Destiny, Autumn and i leave. The timeshedule for Dust improvement is too long. And after what i saw here i dont trust in miracle with better hardware. Good game is not made bz hardware but by great programers. And what i saw CCP cant properly optimiye engine chosed by themselves. Thats quite funny and without any trolling, its pretty ridiclous.

Look at this big greasy neckbeard discussion that sprang up. Jeez.
Also I never said I agreed with their decision to build the game with people who didn't know what they were doing.

I'll be right there with you on Destiny.Hell,I'll be in the beta come this summer.
You do have a point though about better hardware, and after some reflection,I have to agree.
CCP hasn't been able to put in the most basic things in this game, yet keep adding stuff that will no doubt further break it.

So much for that 80 million user install base on PS3 huh? Second Son isn't even a game I was planning on buying and it's doing that well, simply due to lack of choices available.
Can we have Dust on PS4 now?
How well game X does on PS3 vs. how well game Y does on PS4 says next to nothing about the relative strengths of the two's user bases. Neither of those are particularly similar titles to Dust, for starters. Infamous is also an established franchise while The Last of Us was a completely new title. At any rate, let me ask you this, if you could play Dust exactly as it looks now on the PS4, would that be appealing? Do you think people with a newer console might expect more from a game? Possibly another factor there, if the extent of content of quality of engine is any indication on our end.
The odds of getting Dust on the PS4 are not appreciably increased by your thread complaining about it not being there. The only thing increasing the odds of it arriving on the PS4 anytime soon is it being in development for the PS4 as well.. starting a long time ago. If a PS4 version is already in the development, then this thread is irrelevant. If one isn't, you won't see it for quite awhile, if at all.

On PS4 with better frame rates? Hm... Yes that would be worth it imo. The frame rates are so bad on the ps3... |

Second Son? Meh. Not really interested.
Probably just as hyped as Bioshock Infinite was. And that game sucked to the highest degree. Different people have different opinions. They, you, and I are all entitled to them.
That said, I, actually, am looking forward to Second Son. Looks cool enough. I'll miss Cole, though. Infamous 1 was freaking epic and 2 was alright. Festival of Blood was cool, too. |
