The HUD Bobbing The Minimap The Plasma Rifle Muzzle flash The Turret Installations and Null Cannon models The Hacking Animation (Look at the control panel) Small Installations 78k SP, for that one battle!
Where did it all go so wrong?!
Gameplay may have sucked harder than it does now, but everything about the game looked better, we also had a gamemode in which the Attacker was actually attacking, and the Defender was actually defending.
Why?

While I will admit some things are better now....
Look at that mini map! That's so much better than what we have right now!. The cool hacking terminals look futuristic and cool too.
The GEK sounds more like a weapon instead of a wet fart also.
In some way it seems like as DUST has took steps forwards, it has really took steps back too.

Oh boyo i really miss that times Everything seemed new and ground breaking, now its just MeeEEEeeeH. Everything is downgraded, not bright colors, just crapy flat palete. And what is funny all that in Unreal Engine, just sad story about optimalization.

Dat screen tearing. That actual variety in terrain design. That seemingly sane terrain interaction. That ****** gunplay.
The graphics are definitely much better and much more detailled, but also far less polished. That RDV looks pretty goofy, compared to the awesome effects that we currently have for aircraft.
The map seems huge, but that might be due to how the player is approaching it. I hope that later versions will bring some of the positive aspects back. |

Vote for me in CSM1 if you want it back. We need the bobbing HUD it is the most important missing feature. The shifting redlines, matches with a single MCC for more balanced PC gameplay and variety. This is not a pipe dream I played this game I want CCP to bring back on my PS3. They need to bring the game back on track the core is done...
I mean I don't hate CCP they need to have all the racial suits before anyone takes them seriously. Don't you remember the marketing? AAA shooter? That was with the bobbing HUD... The hype for vita app being days away? We need people like me grounding CCP to their original view. |

I'm sorry but skirmish 1.0 was better gameplay. Tactical orbital turret drops. Little bases would be created like you were plaing an RTS.

Just to let you know in a lot of ways it's was terrible. You could not drive the LAV it was impossible. But you could get a good 3v3 tank battle going on while people fight over the ground base. |

Many of the older gameplay was scrapped because the game was literally scrapping some of the old, chunky PS3 systems.

Is it too much to ask for great gameplay and great graphics? Do we really have to choose between the two? You will ALWAYS have to choose between the two when it comes to online games.
Frankly any game that can produce better gameplay than graphics will eventually update their graphics later on the road, but games that focus on creating highly detailed graphics almost never improve their gameplay down the road.

Funny how people are looking back and wishing the graphics looked that good when we supposedly got an upgrade coming into Uprising. |

Dust 514 will be an objectively good game when it's developed so far that LAV combat is actually viable and dynamic, instead of that stop and go and gunner death thing that is currently going on.
@Graphics: Graphics and gameplay do not clash. What clashes is graphic fidelity and gameplay. A good art direction can offset graphics that are bad on a technical level. Also, graphics can directly impact the gameplay. 60FPS, 1080p, higher FOV and an art direction that allows easy visibility of targets (Which is already the case) are all things that make the game more fun to play and allow the gameplay to be better. |

What things are better now? Frame rates? Lag? Balance? Matchmaking? Game speed with that running! Structures?
Only thing i can see somewhat better is CCP introduced better Graphics lighting and texture packs... Which drastically hurt game performance. And added a couple guns and suits to the game. While removing more modules and vehicles then they added by double.
So what has gotten better? i'm confused.?
Oh that 78k SP was because it was beta... CCP handed out alot of SP so we could get to end game quicker and test the complete game... Also a Huge reason why New Player Experience got such little attention.

Some things:
Good: Head bopping Minimap NULLSEC! Skirmish 1.0 Camera Scope on the weapon
Bad: The AR sounds like a plastic toy gun Hacking seems to take forever Shiny Dropsuits Camera Scope while looking through it

Your bad's are alot of peoples pluses...
AR sound was awesome.
Hacking should be an active longer process... Like GTA 5... not run up and hold your button..... Thats what everyone asked for in beta... we got a quicker run up and press your button and only in one spot!
Shinny dropsuits got traded for shinny ground and wall textures... Which make picking out a dropsuit amoungst reflective dirt?!... a pain in the ass..
[*] Everyone wants proper futuristic scopes... What we have now is barely the technology the 3rd world military's have for scopes. |

I noticed the bit detection was a little ****** in that video though.

NOPE they just dont know how to properly optimize engine waht they chosed, nothing else They completely broke the graphics in Mirror's Edge. Look at the PC version for what it's supposed to look like. All AC games have horrible PS3 ports with extreme screen tearing and freezes. InFamous is far less busy in terms of what it requires of the hardware. Especially the collision model/environmental interaction is a joke. Dunno about TLoU, but Uncharted was done by programming wizards. Those same people did Crash Bandicoot and wrote a blog about the kind of hacks they used to make 3D run on the PS1. They are geniuses in that regard. CCP does not have that kind of skilled console developers. |
