Oh yes, it's going to the bottom of the heap. Why should it be there? The reason is not SP, because the difference is so marginal if it even exists (which it doesn't, in many cases). Considering the HMG is going to be pretty much de facto the most powerful infantry weapon in 1.8 and heavies are going to be spammed left, right and centre I don't think you have to worry about that. the AR does indeed require the LEAST amount of SP to use the weapon. I am not sure if it is the only weapon but it is one of very few that only requires weapon operation 1. Oh hey, a marginal SP difference of about three matches in pre-requisites. You're completely right. That should absolutely mean that the weapon should be trash. Darn right dont want to spend the sp you dont get the kills. Thats what this whole game is based on isn't it? Getting SP to get better gear to get an advantage on the bf. If there was no reason to skill into better gear we would all be running around in militia gear and have no reason to spend any isk or even gain sp's. |

I have 18+ million and have level 4 prof and a lot of level 3s in the others. I have more SP put into the AR than you need in a Combat Rifle to make it better than what I currently have. You come up with the most flawed of arguments, that it just goes beyond me.

No, there's no need to buff the RPM of the weapon, especially not to the levels you're talking about.
Current DPS stats are as follows for 1.8
BAR = 300 Proto = 330 AR = 375 RR = 361 ARR = 374 AScR = 382 ACR = 400
It already deals more (albeit a tiny amount) DPS than the RR and ARR in their optimals. You would have them do
BAR 562.5 AR = 428.5
These values are greater even than the DPS we have now, that's a big fat negatory there.
As it stands now with the new values the proto AR will be doing 412 DPS and the proto RR will be doing sub 400 still at 397 if i recall.
ARs already will be doing better in their optimals than Rails, that's all good.
However if you want to talk about the Breaches, I have a fewthreads made already here. |

I'm honestly just hoping they give a respec so I can get back the ~4m SP I've spent into ARs.
The CR currently outclasses the AR in almost every aspect and will even more so come 1.8. I'm baffled that CCP saw fit to nerf the damn BREACH AR... seriously?

You cant balance the weapons so that they equal each other!! The ARs still do damage and you can still do well with them. Enough of these buffs, OP, UP and nerf talks with weapons. Seriously.
We just sitting in a loop here. Can we start progressing instead of trying to make all the weapons "fair"?
