I have heard tell by some scouts that we do. One even says it is and says they use it as if it's an exploit.
I would not know because I don't run in squads. If it is then its a bug that needs fixed or turned into a feature. I would vote on fixed as I don't want my passive shared if I get in a squad.

scout drone? is that not what a scanner is? It uses a mod slot and provides shared vision. scout drone is not needed. now if i could mark a target for squad... but that is squad leader job.
I can get both the options by being squad leader while wearing a scout suit using an active scanner. |

An NO I'm not complaining since I am a scout I just find it stupid that a scout needs to waste a slot in order to share what it scouts.
So if it had a built in on/off switch it could be awesome BUT the discussion is DO YOU THINK IT WOULD BE OP? IMO, the scanner should not be shared, but the passive scans should be. Think about this, 1 single piece of equipment scans and shares all information with squad, while up to 3 mods (2xprecision enh and 1x range ext) on a Galscout are not shared at all??? That doesn't make sense to me. The active scanner should be for that said individual only, if you ewar tank your scout, then it should be squad 'shared' as your main role on the battlefield is intel. This would allow all classes the capability to scan and share, but would help to balance out the risk v reward of scanners vs damps as they would both require SP investments to run efficiently. Also rework the gallogi bonus to reward length of shared passive scans or a BIG buff to passive range enh (like out to max 40-50m), then armor tank(or damps and range ext) and precision enh mods and voila! you have a proto scanning logi with enough lows to run a plethora of fits.
I dont want passive shared because If im trying to sneak up on target i dont want it shared with squad. if i want them to see what i see then i can always pull out a scanner to share it with them. so now it is a choice instead of forced shared vision.

yes i read. as a done responded to. the on/off switch (scout drone idea) is just the same thing as the active scanner. a tool that uses a mod slot for shared vision.
