To the CPM - Did you or did you not know about the upcoming changes to weapons / proficiency (1.8 stuff) etc in detail before the player base found out?
If you did, then what the hell did you say to CCP , if anything?
If you did not then what is the point of the CPM? lol Well, Whats wrong with the numbers? Only thing I see wrong is the MagSec, and the same lolAV issue.
Plus, NDA.

Do you mean the change to proficiency only increasing on one damage type? Because, the community knew that was the direction CCP was planning on going, or at least I thought we all know that... for quite awhile in fact.

Looking what i've read here and throughout the year, it's safe to say that the Dust 514 community do think the CPM are useless. Since the CPM represents the community and our voice. Will you pass this message along to CCP then?

When Ccp asks should we make this more mmo like to reflect eves complexity and depth they say no the mouthbreathers want more twitch based lobby shooter. Funny, that is all consoles have ever been. You want good RPG inspired games go to the platform without thousands of limitations. CCP could have EASILY made an RPG heavy shooter on a platform that could have substantially supported it, but didn't. They somehow saw value in making a free to play game on a ten year old piece of hardware that was well established in lobby shooters. Don't blame "mouth-breathers" for playing the game; blame CCP for choosing them as their core audience.
Ive been blaming them since i started posting here lol, listening to them has turned this game into pandora's box.
years ago they had a good idea that theyre seemingly throwing away to cater to cod kittens, when theyve spent years doing what they do with eve and saying tough luck to anyone who didnt like it, its ludicrous they suddenly want to appeal to the legions of 14 yearolds who want to be l33t. ccp is good at mmos, they should be playing to their strengths, not dumbing the game down. |

CPM OPERATION AND FUNCTION The CPM is responsible for 3 major roles within the DUST 514 development process:
a. Input into High Level Planning and Roadmaps:
The CPM will be involved in high level planning and have input into potential release roadmaps for DUST 514. The CPM in particular will be invaluable in helping CCP target user GÇ£pain pointsGÇ¥ that will require significant resources to alleviate. The CPM, as an external entity, will be able to provide a fresh perspective on what can be done to improve the player experience in DUST 514. The infrequent nature of this sort of planning necessitates that this will be a sporadic activity. When planning is set to occur the CPM will meet with the Executive Producer and other relevant parties to determine the best method for them to contribute to the process. b. Feedback on Team Features: As teams develop features for a release, they are highly encouraged to share gameplay relevant features with the CPM (using the Private CPM/CCP Forum) to get early, focus-group style feedback. The CPM is uniquely positioned to provide timely and concise feedback, while still understanding that the proposed features may change entirely or be cut from a release. The CPM will typically deliver their feedback to teams within 48 hours, and a continuing dialogue will help ensure that features are as polished and GÇ£player-proofedGÇ¥ as possible. c. Community Advocacy: The CPM will have an ongoing role of collecting general feedback from the community and high profile players. Their dual role as council members and players allows them a much greater ability to gather the best opinions and ideas of the player base from sources beyond the official DUST 514 forum. Their advocacy can take the form of official programs, analysis of the CPM council forums, and just general player opinion picked up in the course of day-to-day play
And if you're wondering why most of the CPM has been quite lately is because of this.
A) We have no roadmap and CCP didn;t do most of the things on the last roadmap ..
B) OP Weapons, failed vehicle balance, failed balance in general, bad maps, no development on NPE, no development on gamemodes, matchmaking, no fixes of current gamemodes eg PC District locking/FW LP rewards ..
C) Seeing as there have been countless posts about the issues mentioned in point B yet they still haven't been adressed by CCP clearly indicates that the CPMs aren't grasping the opinions, thoughts, ideas of the community as a whole otherwise we wouldn't be in the situation we are in !!
Actions speak louder than words so quite frankly I don;t give a rats arse about what you claim to have been doing behind the scenes as you have nothing to back up that you've actually been doing it.
The current CPMs are just a bunch of yes men/women and your weakness is a key reason why this games development has been so slow and why there are alot of problems with it that should've been sorted months ago !!!
I'm sick and tired of listening to your crap, if the NDA prevents you from giving any information whatsoever or even discussing potential changes with the community then .. get the NDA changed .. you need to start fighting for the community instead of brownosing CCP
We need CPMS with balls who wont just pander to CCPs every whim liek the current CPM .. this is what happens when you have a body that isn;t elected .. your accountable to CCP and CCP alone and you cannot have a system like that in place when your supposed to be working on behalf of the players !!! Players should have the ability to remove CPMs who they believe aren;t doing a good job on their behalf that way CPM will always be looking to make sure that everything they do is generally wanted by the playerbase

How long have scouts been UP for now ?
How long have CPMs been in their positions ?
And your seriously praising them for finally getting round to fixing something that was clearly broken ?

If not for IWS, we could easily have been looking at scouts without a grenade slot, or only 1 eq slot.
You can't blame the CPM for all CCPs decisions. They give us a voice, but they are not in charge.
Looking for the scout hangout?

Well today I joined Jenza's squad, her having just returned from a CCP meeting. She was very positive about upcoming additions to the game, though obviously couldn't give details. We chatted a bit about various issues/state of the game (Jenza proved that proto swarms still work!) and she mentioned the Valkyrie meet-up going on tonight, though sadly I can't attend.
It was a fun few games and it does feel like there is somewhat of a link between CCP and players via the CPM. Hopefully I will get to squad up with the CMP again sometime. I know this isn't really much of an indication of what the CPM does, but somewhat relevant. |

So you're saying the CPM does the same thing as CCP - promise the sky and deliver warmed over derivative work?
