Snipers and AVers are but a minority in this game. The majority consist of armor tanked DMG modified medium frame users who believe that the only way to stay competitive is to have as much eHP and damage output as possible. With the nerf, perhaps we'll see a little more diversity in module fittings? However, the argument that DMG mods and shield extenders are the only two high slot modules worth equipping will still be present. So, unless the other high slot modules are buffed or a few decent additions are made, many will chime in and claim the nerf is unjustified. I'd like you to step back and assess what you can make out of the situation. Is having that extra 10, 18, or 24% damage increase all that game changing to you? To the minority, I'd assume a solid "yes" to be the response, but what about the rest of you? In all, this is CCP's answer to a problem most of us have been complaining about for almost a year: TTK. The nerf to semi/auto weapons, prof. skills, less grenades--all of these changes were made in hopes of appeasing the player base. Not all may be satisfied, but at least CCP is trying, and more importantly, assuring us that they do indeed pay attention to our feedback. So, let's all chill and wait to see what 1.8 brings. It can't all be bad, right? Maybe in time, AV will get that much needed buff and Snipers will be more relevant, but we'll never know unless we wait.

There's now one and only one option: brick tanking. And guess what suit has always done that best, and will still be the obvious best choice for it in 1.8? The active scanner is another problem that's being reworked in our favor. That piece of equipment made me skill to 5 in profile dampening because I was tired of looking at the message on screen saying I've been scanned.
