Before, tanking was choice intensive.
Do I make a brawling blaster, get up in their face and hammer to crush the enemy resistance for my team?
Do I make a railtank and secure vehicular dominance for my team?
Do I make a missile tank and get laughed at until I start managing to actually hit someone and they **** their pancreas out in shock?
Now it's just: Do I use a railtank, or am I a moron? Do I use a gunni or am I feeling masochistic today?
Rails have: Better DPS, better range, work the best with damage mods(Bigger numbers means better scaling from percentage values), and if used on a gunni, enough armor to be considered dual-tanked
Blasters have: better ability to take on infantry(not by much) and... they sound neat?
Missiles have: enough alpha to take down everything except a shield tank with it's hardener up. Nothing inspires more maniacal laughter than using one of these on full auto against a clumped up team.
Gunnis have: great fittings. lots of CPU and enough PG, great passive regen(you want to take me down with a swarm launcher? LOL!) and magnificent acceleration.
Maddys have: higher top speed, not quite enough CPU, decent PG and paltry shields can get impressive regen at complex level mods. Moves just about right
Suggestions:
-change weapon mods: they're already different modules, so make them have different effects. Railguns: Heat generation down or rotation speed up. Blasters: Damage, pure and simple. Missiles: cuts reload time significantly.
-Limit of one hardener per type(no more double shield Hardener BS. you can still use one of each(Shield/Armor), but even currently, this is generally not suggested as hardeners are resource hogs)
-Change LARGE turrets: Railguns: higher heat generation, make missing costly. Blasters: add spread, this will make it inefficient for taking on single targets smaller than other vehicles while maintaining it's suppressing ability against infantry. Missiles: just about right, actually.
-Change SMALL turrets: Railguns: small rails are in a pretty good place. Blasters: Lower fire rate(10 instead of 14 RPS) increase damage per shot, add small spread that can be lowered by zooming in. Missiles: Again, pretty good place right now, only small gun that functions noticeably differently from it's large variant.
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

I think armour should benefit from the same threshold mechanic that shields get.
It's silly that I can get Madrugar destruction WP with a Rail Rifle. |

I think they should redo blasters entirely. I'd like it if blaster has a reduced rate of fire but higher DPS. They should be able to out DPS a large rail, but only at short range. I also think all large turrets weapons should be mainly anti-vehicle and all small turrets mainly anti infantry and balance the blasters around that.
When 1.7 started it was nothing but OP blaster Maddys until it was discovered that the best counter to them was OP rail Gunnlogis. Now it's almost exclusively Gunnlogis keep the maps clear of any none railtank. I'd like the large blaster to be more effective against other tanks than against infantry, but still maintain it's shorter range.
Where is my Gallente sidearm? 1.8? When is that? SoonGäó514

With good vehicle support on both sides, you do see more mixture of fits, but they all revolve around the rail. The biggest problem is that not everyone has vehicle players on their side.

ive noticed the blaster turret seems to shake quite a bit when firing. might be the cause of all that missing with it.
even though it isnt entirely noticeable during a combat situation. |
