Why would infantry have forced the AV changes when they were popping tanks left and right beforehand? I know it's difficult for you to grasp this, but there was an imbalance, and CCP attempted to address it. In doing so, they created another imbalance.
Now that you're on the winning side of that imbalance, you will do mental gymnastics to convince people that you are in the right, when clearly, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
Which is sad, coming from a tanker as "infamous" as yourself

Change their role or get them the hell out of ambush.
Then Ambush has to die.
Dust is better than TDM, and never should this game be balanced around such a shallow and boring game mode.
