I assume you're talking about the Supply Depot in the Gallente Weapons Facility. That is the single best spot in the game game that plays entirely to the HMG's strengths.
Tight quarters, only two entrances, few surprises. Yes, the HMG is going to beat the crap out of everything in that space.
Your nerf request is like me saying, "I can't beat ScRs and RRs in 50m shootouts with my HMG. They both need their range and DPS nerfed to make it a fair fight." Just... it's missing a bit of common sense.

If he rolled up in a LAV, sure. Battle Segways are an issue.
But normal, on the ground fighting? Medium and light suits are in complete control of the engagement range unless caught by surprise or armor brick-tanked.
I cannot count the number of times Scouts have ducked behind cover and slipped away before I could get a second bullet in them. The smart ones are re-approaching from a different direction 15 seconds later, and it makes me paranoid as hell.
For some stupid reason, Assaults and Logis always want to stand and fight.

Give it a try sometime. These "OP Tactics" do work.
Really, this. I lose 1v1s against wicked smart scout players more than I lose 1v1s to heavies or "pro gun game" mediums.
It does give me concern for 1.8, however. The thing that might make Sentinels OP could be the -5%/level blast resistance, not the weapon-type resistances.
Heavies still need to have the hard counter of REs and grenades to be balanced. I guess we'll see.

Okay, until you mentioned the RR, I was going to say, "Stop trying to fight fatties toe to toe."
But I think I actually agree with you about heavies with light weapons. There are exactly three Rifle Fatties I respect. Ryno, Dust Fiend and Kagehoshi.
The rest are scrubs making up for sucking in my book. But here's the thing:
They suck! There a million ways to kill players who suck! Straight-up slug-fests you'll lose to be sure, but flank them, RE them, grenade them, and they die like the rest of us fat asses.
