They are very few and far between and the best players in the game will still be the best players regardless of what they run. Some people are just better at FPSs than others.
That being said shield tanking is more viable now than it was before as more people use CR and RR than SCRs but they're still crap. You're a scrub if you think shield tanking alone is competitive.
You obviously haven't run into a good Scrambler Rifle user.
Just because you do good in pubs with it means nothing and if you're a min scout wtf are you supposed to tank? armor? A scouts lifeblood isn't his armor or shield anyway, it's his stealth.
I have 4 different proto suits and not one of them has a complex shield extender on it. |

What they're doing is making up the lack of shield hp with armor in swap for damage mods. Nobody is unkillable but my best Cal Logi suit looks like this:
2x Complex DMG
3x Basic Sheid Extender
State Kali Specialist RR
Core Locus
2x Complex Armor
1 Basic Plate
1 Complex Dampener
Equipment is Scanner and Hives. This is what works for me. That's the beauty of this game is the ability to do different things with suits. I don't complain when I see a Scout gk.0 with 700 armor and a logi with a core focus attached to his back. If that's how they wanna roll, let them, it's part of the game.
The original post is about Cal Logis and armor. If you actually run Cal Logi all shield, you realize pretty quick after getting fluxed and ScR'd, that hey... maybe a little armor won't hurt.

My apologies if I come across as a ****. I'm argumentive because I've been trying to get shields buffed for a long time now. Watch when the RR and CR get nerfed, which both will. Watch... just watch the ScR users and Flux/Mass Driver combos come back out. Then shield tanking will be right back where it was a few months ago. Useless. |
