As we all know, or should know at least, Equipment efficiency is nerfed across the Board and this naturally goes for ammo giving nanohives aswell. This combined With the feeling many of us have that we'll get more heavies and scouts and way less logis running around, it might result in reduced numbers of hives and an increased demand for extra ammo. Yes I know the scouts get 2 Equipment slots, but do you really think they'll be able to support you With ammo? Most scouts will most likely put on a cloac, a scanner, or perhaps a low Level or indeed a compact hive.
I've always skipped the various "gain 5% max ammo per Level" skills for all my weapons, now though, I reckon it can be very usefu to have a little extra ammo in the purse going into Battle post 1.8. Provided you're the kind of player that frequently runs out of ammo before a respawn solves the problem for you....

I'm holding on to a sliver of hope that CCP will at least partially mitigate the equipment Nerf by adding a bonus to the equipment skills themselves instead of them just unlocking higher tiers of equipment like they do now.

The average is a clip and a quarter, except for the Mass Driver and the Specialist Shotguns, which are under a clip, iirc.

Nanocircuitry already has a bonus, a very handy bonus. Though I could see CCP removing that in favor of adding percent increases to equipment (plus with the 'new' Logi bonus, the 25% decrease isn't quite as necessary.

The higher your max ammo, the more ammo you get replenished from each nanohive per cycle. So not only does it give you more ammo when you spawn in, but you take away more if you do restock from a nanohive in game.
Same with Boundless REs - they'll use six nanite clusters to restock instead of the usual eight, making them a bit easier on nanohives than basic REs. |

You will see it listed if you look at skillbooks in the market. No idea why it's only there. I can confirm that it works, unlocked level 5 about 2 months ago and looked at my logi suits before and after, saved me a couple points of CPU.

Most nanohives are destroyed by the enemy opposed to running out of nanites, but that is just personal observation. I do see your point that there will be less logis running around though, and must agree that the ammo skill for your weapons is a great skill to have, I have it for all of my weapons. Only case where it's kind of useless is the normal scrambler rifles. I can count on one hand the number of times I ran out of ammo on one of those.

I like that this could actually be a thing having a group defend a supply depo has always really helped out the team... being able to switch fittings as needed say for AV or to do some long range damage and when you have a small group defending a place on the map it tends to draw small groups of red berries away from capture points.
It is better to be thought an idiot, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

You're definitely going to notice a separation in just stand in-logi's and those of us who are dedicated logistic players. The equipment nerf is going to hinder our versatility on a battlefield. 1 logi won't be able to support the entire team any more with all of our equipment as efficiently as before.
And I agree with the observation. Once you lose a position you've been fighting over and reclaim it all your equipment is gone and then you destroy theirs once again. With it not being as efficient as in a racial suit it means we will have to throw it down more often or be able to carry more than 2-4 depending on the tier of equipment.
There will be fewer of us in the battles making our limited resources already stretched then. I'm saving SP now to skill into the Minmatar suit so I can get the bonus to the repper which is my most used tool. We shall see what happens. |

1 extra clip for more than 600k SP is not worth it. I think people would be better off either having their own nanohive, even if compact, going to a supply depot to get more ammo, or even dying rather than burning so much SP for such a little benefit. It is the same reason why most people flat out laugh at the reload skills. What ,a X5 skill that will make me reload 150-250 milliseconds faster? Any kind of lag is going to make that unnoticeable. Save your million SP. |

I don't know... this new build is supposed to increase TTK, so if that's true, people may begin running out of ammo more frequently than they do now. Might make logis more important than ever. Supply depots get frequently blown on a map -- I know, because on my heavy alt I do it all the time as a battle tactic, if it's clear the enemy is benefiting from holding it too long and we are unable to regain control of it.
I dunno, will be interesting to see how it all plays out. As for people leaving the logi role, oh well. Too bad, so sad. More WP for me!

Depending on how useful cloaks are in a squad setting I may or may not use it on my scout suit. In which case I will probably end having a scout/logi type suit where I have scans and a rep tool while my buddy carries nanohives and a needle. Then my assault friend carries the 2nd needle and we all support our heavy (who can't carry anything, obviously). Who needs a real logi? |
