So nothing really changes from 75% of current matches. Save for the fact you don't have tanks being all but invulnerable in the redline.

just doesn't seem feasible with 16 vs 16.. you would run around with no one bottleneck which is what the battlefield currently is- the redline makes the current battlefield a big bottleneck for 32 players. without that the top player would have like 6 kills. like if 5 players decided to play the objective and the rest just run around a huge map would be pretty stupid.
tho maybe could work if it was some kind of free roam which i doubt we'll have anytime soon
u can ban the troll out of the forums but u can't ban the forums out of the troll.

It makes it immeasurably worse. With no redline, organized teams like Nyain San or anyone with good pilots (ADS and HAV) who have SSD's on their system will simply bypass the objectives entirely and blitzkrieg to the MCC/groundspawn and turn EVERY game mode into tankbush. A couple scouts will run around in the background (maybe) and hack the objectives while everyone else takes part in the slaughter.
Short-sighted people like the OP need to stop obsessing about the redline and focus on the REAL problems. Fix the academy/NPE, fix the economic problems that allow 24/7 protostomping and tank spam. Fix f*cking matchmaking for chrissake, that eliminates 90% of the so-called "problems" with the redline.

There's a reason I said make it a week long event, you know so as not to break the game forever there after but to gain info as to what would happen and thus how to adjust the redline in order to land somewhere between the two extremes.

How will moving the redline help this time? It is either too close and they can shoot out and we can shoot in or it is too far and it takes forever to get somewhere. We have had different kinds of redlines and this one is about the best. The redline placement isn't a problem.

Well at least you are doing it as an experiment unlike those who see only the thing right in front of their eyes as the only problem. Even still, IMO it's safe to stay that even worse stomping and higher ragequit rates will be the inevitable outcome because the redline isn't the real problem. Very few people would sit in the redline if there was a fair battle with an incentive to push the objectives, it's as simple as that.

I have been crushed and I have been the on the side doing the rolling and it comes down to teamwork a good team with squads on com do much better than a bunch of yoo-hoos that play in traffic. Every time I get rolled it is either because the other team is better or our team just sucks. The redline is there because you don't know stomping until you've played without a redline. Makes todays stomps look like a joke. You could literally pull up in a HAV and hold down fire at their spawn and get kills. Try to spawn in with 10 mercs on foot and two HAV with two gunners each.
The reason I wrote that is because all I see on the forums and hear in game is how these people win because this is OP and those people win because that is OP but if you look all the way back to the beta it is the same people winning or the same group winning. It isn't the gear, vehicle or terrain because it is them and you both of which have access to the same stuff. I would like to see a graph on how many deaths occur from within the redzone. If it is less than 5% then there is absolutely no problem what so ever.

I've played a few games where there is no spawn protection. What happens? They fight for a little bit, till one side gets their knees blasted out one way or another... then there is spawn camping galore until the loosing team either all quits, or just sits in one spot waiting for the timer to run out.
The only games I've seen pull it off have team scrambling, and prevent players from having squads of any form. Unfortunately, we have Squads.
You can look at it this way, the game has a fuse that is burning down, as it is now the fuse is being slowed by the impediment we call the Redline. Remove this impediment and that fuse is going to burn away at full speed till nothing is left. In a game with as little content as DUST a week may be far too long. Not without some form of PvE or interesting deployment mechanic to substitute the Redline.
