I'm sure there are tons of these threads out there already but here is another one as it NEEDS to be addressed (on the off chance CCP actually gives a flying fornication).
All of the changes and "balance" CCP says they are bringing with 1.8 is completely moot without solving the problem of millions of SP and uber rich vets and corps (who I have no respect for when they do this) come in and run nothing but proto gear and vehicles in pub matches. Tonight alone, I had multiple matches in which there was a squad from a top notch corp who all had KDRs well over 5. What the is the point of playing then??? It obviously isn't a challenge.
One match had SVER TB and Hellstorm running three blaster tanks and a rail tank, all with hardners, and parking them one the null console. Couldn't even bring in a vehicle because the rail in the hills was killing them before they hit the ground. Not to mention the ADS flying around (yup with shield and armor hardeners). Keep in mind this is a PUBLIC DOM!!! The only place noobs like me can even stand a chance. (end rant)
CCP. If you even care or read this. I am just a lowly engineer in RL but even I know that the way you grow a product so it will be profitable is not the scare people away. You draw them in. Let them learn about your product so that they will continue to invest further into it and make you money. The proper tactic isn't, here is a brief (basically non-existent) tutorial to do and then endless months of slaughter at the hands of vets who feel the need pad their KDR cause they feel inadequate in RL.
All of the new stuff you are pushing for 1.8 is going to make the experienced players happy, but how about you throw us new guys a bone and give us a place to actually get that first 10 mil SP to start competing.
Make a HiSec area public domain that is segregated by SP amount. Keep the all access one too for the protostompers to get off in. SP segregation means everyone one will be running basically the same level gear, we will have more fun as new players, and you will retain more players who will make you money. Your whole goal as a company. Is that to much to ask for?

I understand your point but I have to disagree to an extent. While age is a factor with passive SP gain, having an option with a maximum SP value somewhere under what is typically required to start running proto can only help new players. You bring up the age factor for people who have taken a break from the game as being a big reason not to separate by SP. Those who take that kind of break have to be in the minority of players and are far out numbered by those who have just started playing and are being discouraged and driven away. Plus, those who have taken a break already know the game at least.
Perhaps I should have labeled the low SP area as more of an extended training area. I was a little hot when I started the thread cause I love this game and a few corps are ruining it for me and I'm sure others.
