So I use the PS3 controller and I have been playing a lot of shotgun of late, and I keep having the same problem. I close in for the kill springing from around a corner shoot the red, and suddenly my "Player List" is opening. By the time I exit out of it, I have been more likely than not killed. Since you will not give us assignable keys, please give us the option to turn off these alternative key assignments because I can not begin to express my resentment that I die because the game can't handle the speed of my input and thinks I did something else.
And no I can assure you that my finger did not "slip" and I brought it up myself. Not the hundred or so times I have done it.
Sorry, but it is a broken piece that I can't stand anymore. |

That's a hardware issue of your controller. Hold on, i'll post a solution that sounds a little finicky at first but should take no more than 20minutes...

Had it on two of my DS3s and both work to this day without fault.
You can take a benign object, -you can take a cheeseburger and deconstruct it to its source...

Doesn't change your post - assignable keys really should come down the line.
Not just for keyboard or move users but the plain ol' controller too. It's a hallmark of CCP design for EvE - customizable interface and inputs.

Static presets might be barely acceptable on controllers but on keyboard/mouse its an absolute no brainer.
I fainly remember CCP agreeing with this but I doubt i'll be able to find a quote on this.

You could also try pressing L3 or R3 a little harder than you would otherwise do and just wiggle it around while maintaining pressure. It it happens more often or even consistently then it's probably the same issue.

Thanks for the tip. I'm getting random gun firing and reloading on sprinting after spawning and I'll bet this is the cause. |

Same thing was happening to me with one of my dualshock 3 controllers. Getting random button presses with L3. Solved the problem just as Malkai has suggested. The controller has worked perfectly since since following this solution.
How old is your controller?

Totally tried to reproduce this problem with the controllers using one hand on the button and I could at command cause my problem to happen and I will be doing this tonight. Will let you know. |

So fixed both controllers with this solution, but I had to redo one after not putting enough tape so make sure it is enough to support how hard you press while still being enough to close the case. |

Two options:
- Get a new controller, which will have the same problem in a few months
- Open your ps3 controller and fix it yourself ( there are LOTS of youtube videos about it)

Had this same problem. Disassembled my controller, rapped that little rubber pad in electrical tape, glued it in, and reassembled it. Worked wonders. Zero problems to date after fixing it about 2 months ago. |

I have lost tanks when this happened. I start moving -> player list -> BOOM = Marcus Stormfire (Suicide) Marcus Stormfire.
Pretty damn annoying. I hope that fix solves my problem.

Or just move that stupid player list to the start button... it's useless anyway... and give us a comms radio chanell control button there instead.
