I honestly can't wait for Cloak fields.
We will never see a single enemy again. Someone will figure out how to exploit it, like everything else, the exploit won't be fixed, and DUST will be dead.
You know a video game company is bad when they release a dogpile like DUST. You know it's even worse when they just keep releasing broken crap, never fix the old stuff, and watch as the playerbase slowly fades away. You know that it's the worst dev team ever when they don't even attempt to talk to the players, and even take part in stomping on newbies (CCP Logibro, that's aimed directly at you).
There's talk on PSN that if the current devs don't start making deadlines, that the whole group will be sacked all over again. If this happens, do you think they'll keep going or just pull the plug?
I think they'll pull the plug. A venture like this has to make money. It wasn't, that's why the first team got fired. It still isn't.
There's really no way to 'fix' this game. The skill system belongs in a single player game, not a MMO. It encourages disparity between players that cannot be overcome. There is just no way to go back and change that much code. Also, the matchmaking system purposely puts pay players against non-pay players. The devs recognize the pay players want one-sided stomp fests, and since they pay the dev's salaries, they get what they want. If they didn't, nobody would be playing.
Unfortunately, the pay players are becoming bored with this arrangement and are buying less AUR items. Once a 30mil SP vet stops buying his 'Dren' this or that because he keeps losing it to a 2mil SP scrub with a cloak, we will all log on one day to

You nailed it right Alternate Insano, I do hope they dont pull the plug on it, but my guess is that they are treating this as an experiment that is going to get upgraded to PS4 eventually. Right now they had so much bad press I am sure they are still amazed people play the game at all.
I would bet that there is still a significant amount of people that buy aurum stuff, but I agree that I do not buy anything anymore because there used to be incencitive with blue prints to save time. Now its really just mechanics to highly frustrate players. Maybe this works alot on asian markets, but on the long run will not please Western players that are used to a model where things are balanced and then when everything is on the same level, we can talk about skill.

Uh... I've had my scout out run by Minnie assaults... The buff to scouts will actually make them better in their role than a dampened minnie assault.
It's too bad high speeds can mess with the game otherwise we should add about 1m/s to scout base movement.
Does OP realise there are dampening modules? You realise everyone can use them right? There's more options than Plates+Damage mods. |

And why not? Since closed beta we've had people ***** about dying to weapons they don't use but still get better KDR with their own. It's a common Double Standard here for people to use the best weapon(s) in the game then complain when inferior niche one's can kill them. LOL, if you honestly believe what you posted OP, then just quit now. Because you ain't seen nothin yet. 1.8 will only make it worst for you, cloak or no cloak. After a year of using the weakest suits in this game, we have become very good at what we do. 1.8 is simply giving the none masochist's a reason to wear the suit. For those of us that have endured & conquered this role, it will be beatiful. In a blood soaked, plasma burned sort of way
BTW, simply wearing a scout suit will make you a liability. It's knowing how to use it that makes you dangerous. |

Also, a lot of people are scouts because most vets are near 15 mil or above and some of us want to test new suits, since I don't like amarr, i looked at the minmatar scout. I picked it for fun not to use a OP(lol) suit.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not ur day, tomorrow doesn't look too bright either.

Some of us just know how to use scans, cover, sprinting and jumping to make ourselves invisible to the naked eye, and untouchable by the unskilled rifle user

Had a match where I kept running up against a shotgun scout who was quite good. I think he got me three times out of five while I was running a 1200 EHP heavy, and two of those were from full health. He was able to get up close as soon as my back was turned from quite a distance, even though I was constantly scanning, and by the time I'd turned around to respond to the blasts to the back of the head I'd already be into armor. Added to that, once I could see him, he was so close that he would effectively be standing inside my arc of movement and maintaining a track was difficult.
I can see how this could appear to be lag/rendering issue to someone, even though the reality was just exploiting the limited field of view and his speed and willingness to get up close an personal
The funny thing is, as a strat, this would be just as effective with a medium suit if they were willing to run up and stand next to a heavy/medium to get the kill.
Most scouts use binary fits, where you either very rapidly overwhelm the opposition, or very rapidly die. People only remember the rapid overwhelming bit because they think it shouldn't be possible from a suit that falls apart if you frown at it, and not how easy it is for them to kill a scout if they catch them out.

Try running a shotgun on these horribly open maps with everyone running combat rifles and rail rifles that will murder you as fast as they spot you. Try fitting that shotgun and the kin cats on that horrible suit CPU and PG and watch people take a step back while they gun you down. A scout shotgun fit is one of the hardest set ups to run currently in my opinion. I will die more and kill less in my scout suit then my assault suit most battles, but the scout suit is just fun. I applaud someone who shotguns me because I understand the skill required. To complain of the scout shotgun is idiotic.
Scouts in 1.8 will be balanced, now the cloak on the other hand may be OP but that's a separate issue.
The mic bubble bug... I yield, CCP will be fixing it SOON. Current ETA 1 year since bug

CCP I totally retract all That I said of the above, DO NOT TOUCH THE SCOUT, I have been using my Dren shotgun with no proficiency at all and using a level 3 scout galante and been doing games where I end up killing 3x as much around 15 while not dying a lot, it is very pleasant to the point of extasy. Please do not listen to myself being an idiot here nothing to see here carry on....
Seriously I have been using remote explosive level 1 and a shotgun and I am having a real blast ! Fight fire with fire !
