I've recently gotten into scouting on my alt, and skilled into the advanced Gal scout. I'm having a hard time differentiating between when I'm dying from idiocy/bad scouting and when a poor fitting is getting in my way, so I thought I'd pick some scout brains. So far I've had the most success playing it like a damped Cal Assault, using the passive scan for corner play and just strafing people down inside cities. The knives are pretty much exclusively for punishing foolish hackers without burning through my REs.
My current probably bad fitting: Scout G/1 BK-42 ACR ZN-28 NKs C-7 Fluxes F/45 REs 2x Complex shield extender Enhanced CPU upgrade Enhanced profile dampener
How do you fit your ADV gal scout, and why? Any and all words of scout wisdom, fitting or general, are appreciated. |

No fitting is actually very bad if you can use it right Unless you just use CPU enhancers/PG Upgrades when you don't.
Um try going for Range Amplifiers and I'm not going to say Comp Shields are a bad route but I only fit them when I need them: Mass Driver fits and Anti-Heavy fits.
Try: Comp Range Amp Armor Reps Precision Enhancer Damage Amplifier
That's like a cookie cutter gallente scout. You could try playing the tank game but scanning > HP. You don't need HP when you know where everyone is. Scout Level 5 > Dampening Level 5.

It this is a scout specialist have different fits for both terrain and phase of the game.
I start with an uplink RR/SMG stamina scout. Sure my uplinks have more then my sub 200 eHP but this one gets in quick and supplies flank support or drops in on hackers.
Then I follow with AR or Shotgun depending on the terrain.
My alt which is just a std Gal uses rifles exclusively and is a warrior scout in mid phase so plenty of armour and no dampening until scanners come out. Use this as a flanker near other team mates and don't go solo. |

My ADV fit is usually Dren Shotgun, Syndicate SMG, Complex Shield Extenders (2x unless there are scouts/dampened frames around, then I sub in an Advanced or Complex Precision Enhancer), Basic Reactive Plate, Militia Range Amplifier, Flux Grenade, and REs.
However I have all E-WAR skills at Lvl 5 - profile dampening, precision enhancement, and range amplification at Lvl 5.
I prefer an E-WAR scout because I find the playstyle more elegant and exhilarating - relying on strategy and cunning to take out enemies before they have a chance to shoot at you. |

Looks like a good fit for an assault scout. As others have mentioned, try developing a couple of other fits to suit different situations and you'll find you're more effective.
What level scout/dampening are you at currently? The profile reduction from these will determine if you need an enhanced dampener, or if you can get away with a basic or less. My normal fit doesn't run a dampener as I sit under the advanced scanner/vehicle scanner passively, and I have specific suits ready to go if I start getting hit with a proto scanner.

cpx shield extender
adv range extender / std cardiac regulator cpx armor rep
adv cbr std submachine gun / adv nova knives
std REs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
once you get :
racial scout 5 profile dampening 3
or vice versa your fitting options really open up because you push below adv scanners passively.

I'd find a way to not run a CPU enhancer. Use STD remotes-you gain very little using ADV, same goes with flux nades. I'd take off 1 shield extender replacing it with a DMG mod (if I had the extra CPU but needed PG) or a Precision Enhancer (very cheap and easy to fit).
In place of the CPU enhancer I personally would go for a range amplifier (again cheap and easy to fit). You could consider a Kin Cat (very difficult to fit) or a plate (easy to fit).
If you're a bomber (use REs as traps on more than just installations) then you have no idea how much passive scanning helps you. |
